What phrases, actions, incidents or behavior seems to keep popping up each series?

The one I have thought of is where a housemate is nominated, then booed once his/her name is read out, but survives. That person is then reassured by their closest housemates that it is 'panto' and that you never know 'how the public perception is affected by the editing.'

Housemates who use the thin veil of either "keeping it real" or "telling it like it is" in an often failed attempt to excuse their bitching. I don't mind "call it like I see it" "say what I think" though - clichéd yes, but more honest than the other two.

The bitchy group of women (often labelled 'the coven') or group of boorish, laddish blokes seem to be a recurring theme over the years.

The person that is seen as a popular, humorous and inoffensive housemate is seen as having a 'game plan.'

Housemates like Jodie Marsh, Shabazz, Shilpa getting bullied. There always seems to be a victim who gets picked on.

Someone who bitches and argues and is generally horrible is campaigned to be kept in because they're "entertaining" and a "big character"

One that I think was absent this year was the discussion on the spin-off shows and this very forum about who is the "Alpha Male".

Alpha female was discussed a lot on BOTS this year, as the female HMs were definitely the stronger ones! (Gina, Hazel, Carol)
