So pleased to see that Hollyoaks have actually put forward some good talent for awards. Was expecting Vincent to appear in Best Newcomer so pleasantly surprised to see Sienna.
Cindy, Darren and Nancy all up for Serial Drama Performance was a total shock! I expected Will, Dodger and Mercedes to be there as they often feature in these sorts of votes but the other 3 are so often, unfairly, overlooked.
Also Kat and Max for Eastenders are predictable but surprised at some of the others as they seem over-looked usually too.
Actually, all 4 soaps appear to have put some deserving actors forward instead of the usual supposed fan-favourites.
Quite looking forward to see who will make the shortlist.

Rather him than Joey:yawn:

Nearly voted for Carol before I saw Ian Beale was nominated For the first time, it seems that they are NOT taking their longest serving character for granted (which I always thought)- now that he's had good stories, his family is being rebuilt and he is being nominated for awards (he was up for best performance at the last NTA's- he lost but Witts won his category! Can't believe he beat Adam Woodyatt at winning an award)

My votes-

Drama - Holby City (Casualty has been quite shocking this year storyline wise).

Detective - David Tennant in Broadchurch.

Drama performance - Sunetra Sarker in Casualty.

Factual entertainment - Top Gear.

Entertainment programme - The Cube

Serial drama performance - Zoe Henry in Emmerdale (for the drug storyline alone).

Newcomer - Rob Ostlere in Holby City.

Serial drama - Emmerdale

Daytime - The Chase

Talent show - Britain's Got Talent.

The newcomer category is pretty poor. EE should have nommed Kierston Wareing (Kirsty) or Ben Hardy (Peter).

Ditto Corrie who could've picked Katie Mc Glynn (Sinead) or Joe Duttine (Tim).

In fairness he did well to get shortlisted, he was the only one from EastEnders to do so and it's a very tough category, His lack of noms at the BSA's was baffling. He should've been up for best actor and dramatic performance instead of Jo who had won it the previous year. At least the ceremony itself recognised him.

I'll be voting for Jessie because I think she's been great since the shagger reveal. Surprised to see Diane nommed when Jacqueline, Danielle and Steve John Shepherd have all had better material to work with.

I hope Emmerdale win best soap, they deserve some recognition.

I voted hollyoaks for best soap, bit of a waste really wasn't it? Should of voted emmerdale which has been just as good but would have more of a chance of winning than hollyoaks.

Anyone but eastenders

I clicked on the website given, voted for the first category (talent shows) then nothing happened. Am I doing something wrong?

I think Sienna deserves to win the 'best newcomer award'. Although Dexter will probably win it, due to the amount of Eastenders who vote for Eastenders in every category.

I think Hollyoaks really deserve an award or two this year as it has been really good (although a little OTT at times). I think definitely Best Newcomer for Anna Passey as every time she is on screen, I want to punch her.

Ok didn't beat him. But lets be honest: Adam is a great actor and didn't win. David is a terrible newcomer and did.
