[GAME] The Voice Factor 2: Live Show 4
Last time On The Voice Factor, the 12 remaining acts and everyone else involved lifted off and we explored the galaxy with songs relating to space. Whilst some reached for the stars, others came back crashing down to earth. But sadly and following a cruel twist, two acts were left behind to be lost in space as we said bon voyage to Marianne Pentha and Shane McLaughlin. Tonight, find yourself a love partner and get ready to snuggle up, because our Top 10 acts are taking on the power of love. So expect a lot of romance in the air, if you're able to share it. (Unlike me who can't...waaaahhhh!
)So fighting for your love (and votes) are: Vister & The last of the Boys Connor Scott Jackel1234 & The Girls Caroline Glaser Celia Pavey Mary N’Diaye Caithlin Mogatedi James Pingu58011 & The Male Overs Karl Michael Todd Kessler Barry_Clarke & The Female Overs Natalia Sikora Jacqueline Nadja (Begins 26:00) Welcome everybody to a wonderful (but rainy) Tuesday, but despite the weather, nothing can dampen this show's spirits. ![]() Judges, if you could, please confirm your presence! |

Barry is not here tonight but I have his comments ready and Pingu is unable to send me comments for reasons outside DS.
No idea where Vister is but I have his first wave of comments ready as well. So kicking off the show is the girls and first up, she's getting restless, it's Caithlin Mogatedi James! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhTa48nd-jY |

Barry's Comment
Caithlin Mogatedi James:- Caithlin you are such a unique talent, I just love your voice it is as smooth as silk. It is the voice of a recording artist, one that will go on and sell a lot of records in the future. This performance was great to symbolise the power of love. I enjoyed the dark connotations which it had, your beginning to separate yourself from the rest in your category, and actually from the majority of the competition. You’re still the one to beat. Vister's Comment Caithlin You had an element of mystry inm their... Me gusta! My kiwi I want you to perhaps take a risk next week as I can kind now the types of songs you’ll do whilst thats good as it shows consistency but as I judge I love a risk taker! But you might that the was an element of risk? Because I absolutely enjoyed your accent showcasing in that song- I was entertained and thats all I ask for!

Caithlin Mogatedi James
Well Caithlin this performance was definitely the most emotional one you’ve performed in the competition and really allowed you to show what you’re all about, connecting with songs and just giving brilliant performances that make people feel something. This song just builds from the quite mellow start to the more instrumental middle section and then those bloody amazing notes at the end of the song which showed off the sensational power of your voice as well as the range! Girl you basically nailed it and gave an absolutely brilliant opening performance to the show! Absolutely smashing my girl! |

Barry's Comment
Jacqueline:- I wanted to get you back in the groove to where you are most comfortable, and this I believe really gets you back at the forefront of the competition. The song in itself symbolises what you are about as an artist and the record you should be making. It allows you soft yet poignant vocals to shine, and you can tell the story of the song. The acoustic nature of the song is stunning, and that helps the performance as it centralises on you main selling point, the soft county pop voice you have. You are a real artist. Vister's Comment Jacqueline Woo Well done that song allowed you to really show the emotion and illustrate the theme this week! Well done because the vocals were super my apple!

Jacqueline
Hmmmm I have to say Jacqueline this felt really vocally weak for you and they felt very, how do I say it, young and cutesy wutesy for you. I mean this song felt just particularly average and like something that a really less vocally strong singer would sing. Your best performance for me is still your week two performance and I really think Bazz needs to go back to that performance and kind of try and find another song similar to that style of you we saw. Until then all I can say is overall I am disappointed. |

Connor Scott:- This was again a solid performance Connor, you are definitely a solid performer who is consistent. The arrangement centred on your unique vocal tone which I really enjoy. What I am now wanting to see from you is more artistic progression. I now know what am I getting from you, in terms of song choices. Maybe a little more risk taking next week, just to ensure that your performances don’t become stale. Overall a good effort. Vister's Comment Connor MY MANGO! You are simply my favourite of course! You were rather ravishing my friend in conveying the emotion of the song ! You have to be here next week, the theme really suited you this week! The raspyness and amazing tone with those backing vocals was a spectacular vocal performance from you this week! ![]()

Conor Scott
I really wish your mentor didn’t choose this cover as if there’s one thing you can never do its top Florence and the Machine and this one was definitely not topping anything Florence has already done. I like the way you decided to try and folk up the song (which is what I’ve been begging for) but at the same time the vocals were disappointing. This is the thing your mentor chooses songs which suit you vocally but not stylistically but then chooses ones which suit you stylistically but not vocally. It’s actually quite mind boggling. Anyway I think your mentor just needs to find one song that will fit you vocally and stylistically and I reckon he could have a good shot at taking you far in the competition but tonight however not a good performance for you. |

Mary N’Diaye
In the immortal words of Kelly Rowland “Who knew you could do down tempo!?” Mary this was an absolutely sensational performance and is one that I have been saving for you for ages as it allows you to just do all the things you’re good at whilst also giving a really brilliant performance. We’re used to seeing Mary, the girl who can get an audience up and dancing, now we get to see Mary, the girl who can do a ballad! You’re one of those acts that can just do any song and still make it sound sensational! Girl you just dominate the competition each week and do an absolutely amazing job of doing what you do best! Mary N’Diaye = sensational! |

Barry's Comment
Mary N’Diaye:- Mary singing Ciara, I never would have predicted it. Do I appreciate it? Not really. The song choice in itself was bland, it showed very little artistic progression and instead of standing out on your own as an artist you are moulding into a stereotypical Urban artist. In order to sell records in this field of music you need to be bold and different. Ciara can’t even do that anymore. I have yet to see how you stand out. I think you could be in danger tonight. Vister's Comment Mary Wowza. One word – wonderful. Your mentor hits the jackpot in terms of song choices for you! Vocally their were times of that song were you could have extended and been powerful but still very well done!

So Mary gets mixed comments with Barry finding it bland and Vister loving it. But only the public can choose which side to take.
Now for the first of the Male Overs and Pingu does not wanna lose another one, it's Karl Michael! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dFdLnyHieU |

Karl Michael:- This is what I have been waiting for Karl This performance! The reason I believe this is your best performance is because you didn’t conform to what is out in the chart. This soft rock pop song had elements of soul, which really fits into the artist which you are about. For the first time with you I felt I was listening to a glorified artist and not some karaoke singer and that is what is needed in this competition. The song allowed you to really put emphasis on the lyrics. Well Done. Vister's Comment karl- I really want you to see thart musical passion and enthusiasm just be portrayed in your performance as that lacks for me with you. However, my custed cream I really appreciate your vocals and take on the theme!

Karl Michael
I think this was a pretty decent performance Karl but I do have to say it did feel quite week in the vocal areas and when the guitars came in it did feel a bit too edgy for your quite soulful and refined voice. That being said Pingu at the moment is giving you decent song choices at the moment, but that’s all they are, decent. I am waiting for a moment like in the sing off where you just did amazing and I think that’s what you really need at the moment as most contestants have kind of had that moment whilst I am still waiting for yours in the live shows. Until then though, decent song choice and best of luck. |

Barry's Comment
Caroline:- Caroline I adore your artistry, I think the purity which your voice has is a real positive for whatever performance you give. The listener is instantly hooked to what you are saying due to the simplicity to the song. I enjoyed how the song built up, as it allowed the audience to gradually get into the song, and really listen to the lyrics of the song. We have now seen Caroline the artist for several weeks, I now want to see Caroline the entertainer, can you put on a show as well. Time will tell. Vister's Comment Caroline My darlin’ I love that tone if the truth be told (see what I did there? ) you my lil cracker are just like cool like cool cool! The versatility of your voice from doing an up-tempo last week and coming here this week and doing a ballad- love it! Plus if you get to the final (and my connor) I’d love you for two to do a duet your vocals together would be the voice factor! ![]()

Caroline Glaser
Another brilliant performance Caroline and I adore seeing you with your piano here each week and I know for a fact that you did another great performance! I love find quirky songs like this for you as it’s a type of music that I just adore and you’re a singer that I just adore and you just give some fantastic performances week after week. This song is all about a lover feeling like home whenever you’re near them and even when you’re trying to leave them you just can’t bring yourself to do it because of this and I think you’ve given another sensational performance Caroline and deserve to keep slaying the competition with your lovely quirky style! Brilliant performance Caroline! |

Nadja
Nadja this was definitely by a mile your best performance of the competition so far and was just a welcome break from the stuff we’ve seen you do before which for me has just been average. This however was so much better as it had edge, soul and funk altogether which is what you’re all about and this was just so much better than everything we’ve seen from you. Although I do admit I would’ve liked it if he had a note telling me about the rap as that came as a surprise . Anyway definitely a much better performance than last week and overall I just have to give you a thumb up. Bravo Nadja!

Barry's Comment
Nadja:- I just absolutely adore picking songs for you as an artist, soul music is a real passion for me. When watching I find that a lot of mentors struggle to make soul artists to stand out, however I love it. It is all about modernizing the genre but yet staying true its roots. This I believe Nadja was the type of record which you would release as a single. It had a major beat and allowed you to put on a major performance, and control the audience. You could teach so many of these artist how to put on a show, and your vocals just shone through! It was a delight to listen to. Vister's Comment No comment. |
