It's disgraceful how they've treated the character and Letitia Dean! EE are great at doing this....screwing up great characters and treating legends like Rubbish! Look at how they treated Wendy Richard! And for her to be bossed by Ronnie and be permanently in the background is so wrong, sort it out writers!

Even though we've heard that she has great material coming up with Steve McFadden and for 2014! .....we think!! but from spoilers coming up, it looks like she's turning against everyone! I think she should talk up to the writers! the show execs need to start concentrating on her and put her centre stage!

Getting tired of these threads. I respect you OP, but this just sounds like the cries of a fan that doesn't want to move on. Sharon is coming across unlikable at the moment, but it's on purpose and it's the only way her character could go. A lot of people on here are expecting Sharon to remain strong and confident like she was before, but that's not who she is anymore. She will re-find herself soon, but people need to accept that the Sharon on her second stint isn't the same person she is now. If they still made her like she was back then, it would be unrealistic.

First of all, Sharon is not the be all and end all of the show but at the same time, yes better writing/storylines would help the character.

There will always be some threads that are bigger and some threads that will be duplicated. Like it or not Sharon remains one of the most recognisable characters in EastEnders history- lets take away for a minute what has been happening in the past year- this is not the Sharon that we Sharon fans love- it is indeed an imposter it seems and the reason why there are so many Sharon threads at the moment and the reason they are long is simple- Sharon has been torn to pieces by the writers who have completely ignored her history and have turned one of the show's best loved characters into a fully fledge hate figure which is very sad.

I dont believe Letitia Dean ever thought let alone us Sharon fans that this would have happened to her in this stint. Dean herself returned to the show as Kirkwood was leaving and Newman was simply not interested in telling us what brought Sharon back to Walford, what happened in America in the intervening years- she was parachuted into the Brannings and since has the been the victim of lazy writing, its hard to believe that this was one of the shows leading ladies twenty years ago.

Characters can be redemed - look at Kat, a year ago Kat was hated on here just like Sharon is right now. Sharon is a mess the whole comeback has been a flop but she has a history on the show and there is still untaped storylines- for those who say Letitia cant act - look back at Sharon in the first two stints and I prove you wrong.

This is a character who does not deserve this kind of writing and an Actress who deserves better- lets hope Dominic Treadwell-Collins can see the damage that the previous EP and her writers have done to Sharon because if he cant then she really is history and that would be a sad conclusion to a iconic character.

I like sharon but she HAS had her day, like bet lynch its a mistake to return, and this return has been really really awful. I want her gone, for good this time. Some Iconic or historical characters should be left in past and right now this is how I feel about Sharon. The painkiller storyline was crap, she doesn't work with either the Brannings or the Mitchell's even with the fling with Phil it was awkward slotting her back in there and is now relegated to tottering about looking like Diana Dors with that terrible kid hanging off her.

I respect you Vaslav but I really disagree with you here. Yes, Sharon has changed. She is being written differently. Because she IS a different person. We all know that she's coming across unlikable and hard to warm to, and maybe they could make her seem a bit less one dimensional at the moment, but she hasn't been ruined.

I disagree with you when you say that they've forgotten all about Sharon's history. The way she is acting now all reflects from her history which has shaped her in to what she's like now. She won't be like this perminantely, I guarantee that there will be a storyline soon that will see her build up and slowly recover. She's MEANT to come across unlikable because its the person she turned in to. She isn't the same girl on her past stints.

Think about it, if she came back from America and continued getting in relationships, having affairs e.t.c like before then she would be very dragged out and boring. Sharon is experiencing a darker route at the moment which is why she is the way she is. They haven't 'ruined' her, it's just part of her character development.

I still believe however she has been ruined but because the audience have not been told what happened to Sharon between 2006-2012 and this is frustrating - it seems like there are so many holes that have just been papered over with no solid backstory.

I agree that the character has obviously had a very turbulent time since Dennis died but we as an audience have to find out what has turned her into such a hated character- its obvious that the untold backstory is responsible for the current state of the character.

If what your saying is true then I respect that and I hope that the character will find her way out of the darkness but the writers need to hurry because Sharon has turned into Public Enemy Number 1 on EastEnders with Letitia herself bearing the brunt as the Actress who plays her...

Axe Sharon, her acting shoddy and her SLs are boring, she's not the saviour of the show and I don't think putting her in the vic going to make her desirable as a character.

Only to be turned back around again when the inevitable reunion with Alfie happens.

I don't know why letisha agreed to come back. I mean she must of known eastenders has a habit of neglecting characters and changing their personalities. Which is exactly what they have done with Sharon.

I think calling Sharon "public enemy no.1" is a bit ridiculous. A few people on an Internet forum does not equate public opinion.

I also don't think we need to know every piece of detail of her "lost years" as viewers can put the pieces together without much thought - although they could throw a bit more info at us.

I agree she is different and could be improved but I also think her behaviour is a result of her past. Sharon left a broken woman. She had a complete meltdown after Dennis' death - she didn't speak for days. This is the new Sharon facing the world.

I also find Letitia's acting below par on this stint. I don't know why - I'm a Sharon fan and think she was great in all previous stints but she's cringeworthy at the moment.

It's not the character that bothers me, she's had a lot of grief in her life and it's understandable that it would have all caught up with her, but I'm not sure her acting is going to improve. Her upcoming s/l could be make or break for her.

Leititia deans problem is she is way down the pecking order in stories now.

She is behind Sam Womack, Jacqueline jossa and jessie Wallace to name but three but she is probably behind others in the pecking order now

It all boils down to the acting for me. You can't blame the writers for everything. I've watched lots of soaps where characters are pushed to the back but hey are always top class. Sharon is just not a good enough actress. I can't stand Lauren but she is a much better actor.
