I was just reminded about another pronunciation I remember being told about by a work colleague years ago.
Not sure if it was something he heard from an advert or tv show but it was about an American couple asking for directions to Loughborough and they pronounced it Luga-Boruga ![]()

Love Dave Gorman but this weeks show was painful. Bloody jigsaws. Come on Dave, pull your finger out. This weeks episode was very lazy.

It was a tad contrived, in so much as Tom Jones' head just happened to be in exactly the same place, and was the same size, as Alan Sugar's which suggests that the TJ jigsaw we saw, wasn't the original one he ordered as he said he didn't consider the number of jigsaw-cutting machines the manufacturer might have until after it arrived, so clearly he ordered a second one with the specific dimensions and positions....... but who cares, I'll let him have that!

The advert going viral was brilliant.

I thought the first part of the show was quite boring.
I thought the found poem was probably the worst he's ever done. It really picked up at the end though and was very funny, especially the reveal. |

I thought it was great. Even though you can guess where some of it is going, there's always enough random tangents along the way.

Apart from Dave's obvious fame and contacts in the biz, his wife is a tv producer and this is from her online profile "I have over 11 years experience making comedy shows for TV, radio, online and live, working with some of the biggest names in comedy. I've made shows for ITV, CBBC, BBC4, SKY 1 and SKY Atlantic as well as producing comedy content for social media and viral campaigns. Dont get me wrong, I love Dave's work but this was a step too far fetched for my liking. |

I love this programme but that was the worst episode so far. The Found Poem was incredibly dull and a bit on the short side, too.
Going to see him on tour in November, I hope it's not just content recycled from the TV show. |

Spoiler
Do you happen to know if a youtube clip of it exists? If somebody has recorded that episode can somebody who has the means to do so get the Powerball reveal clip uploaded onto youtube please? It needs to be up there. (And don't put the word 'smartie' in the title, as it will completely ruin the punchline) |

Not sure what it is like at the bigger venues but the smaller ones he sits out front does a signing/selling thing for books and dvds and you can have a quick chat if not too busy!!! If you are in the frontish row make sure your phones off (unless that was a skit part?) |

That's a good coincidence because that clip has been on my mind for about two weeks now for some reason, as I remembered it being hilarious at the time, but couldn't find a clip of it anywhere online.

God, this weeks episode was shit. Half the program devoted to the calendar which was mind numbingly doring, followed by the car rubbish and then the twitter snoozefest.
I love Dave, but he needs to up his game . |

I enjoyed the calendar bit. The middle dropped but I did like him catching out the guy at the window shop.
The poem was poor again and even he has stopped doing his faux corpsing. |

The calendar part started well I thought (but overall it went over my head).
The found poem was protentious crap and not funny. The "poems" are quite funny when the comments in them are silly/idiotic (the horsemeat one, etc) not poncy tw*ts trying to be clever ![]() The reveal at the end of the board games episode was funny ![]() Hope Dave ups his game next series. |

I want that calendar! I know it was only intended as a joke, but I want it and now it will always bug me that we will never have it. At the very least we should have the proper names for July and August reinstated.
His spare day at the end of the year would be a nightmare for computer systems. It would probably finish up having to be put in as the 29th day of the 13th month, in the same way that technically on a clock 24:00 should follow 23:59, but then 00:01 should follow 24:00 but that's too complicated so we have 00:00 instead. |

Oh mean't to say he has a reputation for doing a live show that will never be recorded or shown on TV (how weird is that today!).
What annoys me is comedians who've had a rare TV appearance and then do comedy nights where they repeat what they've already done on TV shows. I saw Jamali Maddix as part of a comedy night where he had 20 minutes and it was just an extended version of what he did when he appeared on the John Bishop Show. He probably did exactly the same performance for the John Bishop show before it was edited by the producers. Very disappointing. |
