Nope that bit was not new. 2 more series on the way i think one had already been filmed and will be due for broadcast soon. Most likely before or after the next series of Taskmaster (another great Dave original)
Whens Taskmaster series 2 on? Seried 1 was brilliant.

Series 4 of Modern Life of Goodish is still to be filmed. The previous series' have started on TV in September & he has said that it may be a bit later this year due to recently having a baby and wanting to spend time with it but is starting production on it very soon.

I believe the next 2 series of Taskmaster were filmed recently. with series 2 to start in June (and Dave Gorman is one of the contestants in series 3).

I wasnt keen on the compilation. The point of the show is that its these long elaborate stories that you follow. The fast-pacedness (thats not even a word, is it?) of the compilations didnt feel right.
I agree, chopping up the episodes like they did feels a little weird.

They've already repeated these shows in full at least twice so carving them up and reheating them while having the gall to call it a new series is breathtaking cheek. Do they imagine anyone is fooled by this?

Dave (the TV channel) commissioned Dave (The TV person) to make 2 new series of Modern Life is Goodish. Series 4 starts next week (yay!) and Series 5 is scheduled for 2017.

Really enjoyed the first episode
I have some symptoms of Aspergers or mild ASC, so the part about what interests are "geeky" or when you can be called a geek made me think a bit

Thoroughly enjoyed the first episode of the new series. I'd be interested to know where he gets the material for his found poems, he showed screenshots from a number of different forums at one point (people complaining about the impossible music quiz) and I'd never heard of any of them.

He spoke about it on Talksport the other day. Basically actual quotes seen online.

Yes, he makes that clear on the show, but the question is where?

Hard to believe but I am given to understand there are ways of searching the internet to find just about anything!

I did enjoy the last segment, the rest was a bit lame. The twitter bashing was a bit arrogant.

His material seems to have declined in quality since he's started making a series every year.

Thought this episode was an improvement on Series 3, so far though

I'd guess it's mainly the "comment on this article" section at the bottom of most newspaper websites, the comments on that story on the daily mail go on for many many pages, I am sure if you had enough time on your hands you'll come across some of the ones he's quoted

The finale to this episode was a little better than usual. Normally Dave's endings are really weak compared with the overall quality of the show. Typically he builds up to it and then you are disappointed when you realise "Oh, that's it", but this time there was more of a point to the denouement, even if he still fell into the trap of it being a personal ending, meaning we don't know, or even get to see the 'victim'. This still diluted the effect - he seems to have a real difficulty with coming up with a really great ending - his Achilles heel.

The thing that is funny is that when he talks about things that annoy him (like being called a geek), it's quite obvious that these things really do annoy him quite a lot - certainly more than his 'mock' annoyance and more than he would want you to think. He does get irritated by it, which is exposed by his contributions on Twitter where he is often quite prickly when people make innocent comments.

I really enjoy these series except the Found Poem bit.
I find it incredibly boring and now always fast forward it.

It's one of my favourite parts of the show though I have to say nothing really grabbed me this week.

Reasonable show today, but two things:

1. Dave still can't do endings. He gets himself all worked up & tells us how many hours he works on each show and yet the endings almost always disappoint. The pine cones tonight was poor.

2. On Twitter today, Dave got into one of his regular tiffs with a few people because they took issue with his claim that there had now been 24 hours worth of the show. They pointed out that he should deduct ads. Instead of thinking, 'It doesn't really matter', he carried on the debate with several people for ages. Thereby again confirming he really is quite an odd, obsessive sort of character.

Dave is still on Twitter lauding his achievement in getting to 24 episodes of this programme. Bit odd.

As obsessive as someone constantly picking someone's tweets apart on DS?
