Jean IMO got the Julia's theme as she'd been through such a journey during her time in Walford that it was rather fitting with her LONG OVERDUE happy ending.
We've followed Jean from those days living in her boarded up house being terrorised by neighbours, many highs, lows, selfless acts and for the actress, remarkable portrayal of her condition, BUT, not only that, portraying the character of Jean, a PERSON who just so happens to be a bipolar sufferer as opposed to a bipolar sufferer, called Jean.
Gillian/Jean, never really did her condition define her, it was just a part of the person she was.
Fitting end to a bloody brilliant character/actress. I shall miss her and can only hope she'll return one day.
Now she's off to Brighton for a sausage surprise with her dear ol' Ollie
