Think it's because Gillian had been in EE longer then Jo.

Probably because it has nothing to do with the character, or how important they are, it's about whether or not it fits the ending of the episode.

Because it was a happy ending!
Tanya's exit was not, however it was sad, so she did deserve one since shes getting away from a serial cheat, thats a end of an era of heart aches! |

I wouldn't be suprised if Tanya is back in the next year or so tbh I think Jean deserved the Julia's theme it fitted the end really well and I have loved the character .

I think its because Lauren left with Tanya albeit temporarily and it would make it seem like both characters were leaving. I think Jean deserved the theme regardless because she'd changed so much into a stronger person during her time on EE.

I think it depends on who writes the episode.

I do think Julia's theme can be wasted thought. I think it was a waste to use it for Syeed and Christian when they got together.

Isn't it only used for when the Duff Duff isn't appropriate? It certainly wasn't appropriate tonight so Julias theme was a good choice.

You can only really do Julia's Theme if someone's getting a happy ending (Jean and Stacey Slater) or if someone is a big character (Pat Evans and Peggy Mitchell).
Tanya didn't have a happy ending, considering she'd lost everything, and wasn't that big of a character in all honesty. |

Stacey Slater got a happy ending?
On the run for murder with her baby daughter, flying abroad with little money, no clothes and nowhere to go. Lmao.

Jean IMO got the Julia's theme as she'd been through such a journey during her time in Walford that it was rather fitting with her LONG OVERDUE happy ending.
We've followed Jean from those days living in her boarded up house being terrorised by neighbours, many highs, lows, selfless acts and for the actress, remarkable portrayal of her condition, BUT, not only that, portraying the character of Jean, a PERSON who just so happens to be a bipolar sufferer as opposed to a bipolar sufferer, called Jean. Gillian/Jean, never really did her condition define her, it was just a part of the person she was. Fitting end to a bloody brilliant character/actress. I shall miss her and can only hope she'll return one day. Now she's off to Brighton for a sausage surprise with her dear ol' Ollie

If Jane got Julia's Theme, Tanya should have got Julia's Theme too.
And I do mean JANE not Jean, Jane Beale. Last edited by SoapBaby : 17-09-2013 at 22:47. Reason: Adding |
