Dear God, is that really going to sit there at the start of this thread for the next six weeks?

Yay! A new thread. All shiny and new!

Should this thread begin by predicting the outcome of The Battle of the 28th? A monster schedule from BBC1 against a huge schedule on ITV. Who will win the battle in this next stage of the "war"?

You could always complain to the mods Steve, I must admit it is a bit embarrassing for you.

Love how you've quoted it again just to make sure.

Wasn't really expecting a new thread until about 9.30am on Sunday 29th September.

It looks like Sky Atlantic are going to get another year out of Mad Men. AMC have just announced that they're going to split the final season into two blocks of 7 episodes one airing in 2014 and the other in 2015. That also means another year of 'why did Sky pay so much for a show nobody watches'

Also I don't know if anyone will care but Fox News have just announced their first changes to their prime time line-up in more than a decade. Greta Van Susteren moves to 7PM, Megyn Kelly's new show The Kelly Files goes to 9PM, Hannity shifts to 10PM and O'Reilly stays put at 8PM. It'll be interesting to see if that has any kind of impact on the cable news market or not.

You don't know if he's embarrassed! He might be flattered. We'll have to ask him.

Only one more post until I get to 11000 posts! I want that one to be very special! Possibly. Maybe. Probably not!

Was Celebrity Super Spa meant to be on every night this week at 9pm? Because now the final episode is listed as Thursday and on tonight's episode they said tomorrow's is the penultimate. My EPG is listing a film called 'War' in the 9pm slot on Friday now.

Looks like Citizen Khan is back on Friday 4th October at 21:30. Presumably a repeat of Miranda will precede it.

the week starting 5th october should see the bbc autumn drama really kick in. With the monday and tuesday 9pm slot finally free (am I right in saying that)- we should be seeing the paradise, possibly ripper street, the escape artist or maybe another drama. I think bbc1 will put in a drama on wednesday or thursday as well (I know that bbc2 will be showing peaky blinders but honestly despite its amazing critical reception, it looks set to lose quite a chunk of viewership). Will be exciting to see the schedule for that week when its released this thursday, right?????

The provisional schedule for that week for BBC1 is out now. (On Digiguide). We won't know until next Tuesday I think!

Just to say I thought New Tricks was fantastic tonight - wonder if it will get a liitle boost in ratings - it deserved it.

It's supposed to be on all week, but ratings have halved already and it wouldn't surprise me if they move it. Who really wants to watch a show about z listers in a health farm, this sort of thing went out of fashion years ago.
However, the real battle will be between the football and New Tricks. I reckon with Rooney scoring his 200th goal( so the news said, I didn't watch), what's to say the peak has gone up to 6 million. However, with Pullman leaving UCOS, I reckon this will still have the edge and get 7 million.

So not a timeslot change but it's been cut down to 5 episodes.

I suppose they can go down the film route on the Friday with nothing too major airing after it, but on Wednesday and Thursday they have new drama episodes at 10pm.

Still, that's two more nights of well below average ratings at 9pm. A painful week for Channel 5 but one where they've learnt a lot.

Bit random, but I notice that all the Bond Movies are in the 'Last Chance to View' section of on-demand movies on Virgin Media.

So presumably this is the Sky Bond contract expiring soon ? Might there be a return for these titles to terrestrial ?

Are you sure? The bbc have released the schedule starting 28th sept to 4th october? The week starting 5th october will be released this thursday- its also the week where the monday and tuesday 9pm slot will be free (no motorway cops or new tricks). Or am I wrong. Confused????????

Doh! No it's me! The provisional schedules do, as you correctly say, go up to 4th Oct. I was getting too excited at the prospect of writing my 11000th post! Sorry for the confusion.
