Surely one can only see so many C-Listers dancing before it becomes a bit tired? (same as anything really)

Plus weather was vaguely pleasant and perhaps people hold off and watch it on timeshift back to back with Saturday?

(and to be entirely facetious lots of pensioners will have died since the last series so viewing figures might struggle)

That's a good start for Strictly.

But hopefully, lots of then non-pensioners will have made it to pensioner status in the meantime, thus maintaining the inexplicably high figures.

ITV have just trailed their Saturday early-evening entertainment ....but it's for next Saturday! (Fool Britannia and Celebrity Chase) Have they given up on the Stepping Out finale?

By a BBC publicist: her reliability is unimpeachable.

Strictly down year on year is a good result. Agreement with everyone at last!

Can't see what the fuss is about this SHIELD thing is myself. Just improbable make believe stuff. Still maybe it goes down well with the kids

For crying out loud the weather can not be used as an excuse this time of year. It was dark well before Stricly aired last night. The bbq season is well and turley over

Higher than expected for Strictly, a very good rating. Tonight will build on that well.

Decent start for agents of shield but it will fall over the next few episodes quite significantly.

It'd be like promoting a greasy spoon. It just reminds people there's a Michelin star restaurant across the road.

Ambassador has form, remember when he predicted that many wouldn't bother with the Olympics Opening Ceremony as the weather was good and many would choose to sit in their garden instead. Oh and people 'up north' didn't care about them.

Why do you feel that Samuel? Arrow held up vs similar comments.

I think it'll level off but not significantly so

There's a 7pm repeat tonight that should do well.

I expect this will be popular with pay TV subscribers, so the timeshifting should be higher too (not good for ad revenue though).

I would like to comment on the ratings but I am not sure I have seen any yet that I can rely on.

Eastenders - 6.07m (28.7%)

Looks like SHIELD hurt the soaps

Seems Coronation Street was dented a little at 8.30pm yet it held up well in my opinion. Below are the comparisons between this week and last week, excluding +1:

27/09/13 - 7.39m (32.2%)
20/09/13 - 7.57m (34%)

EDIT: In light of revised figures.

Yep all soaps look low. Agents managed to do a decent job denting them especially EE which is a shame as it was a great episode last night.

EDIT: Just seen EE rating. A bit below par considering the content, I thought David might have attracted a fair amount of long term viewers. Still a long road ahead of them it seems, still clearly a distinct lack of buzz despite all the papering over the cracks.

SCD & Corrie didn't clash, and Miranda was the lead-in for SCD.

Thanks for those soupnazi. Digital-I is not tape-checked if I remember right? The first Corrie and Piers ran to time; everything else finished early, so will be different tape-checked. The 20:30 Corrie will be revised up significantly due to this.

What a poor suite of ratings there! Only the cookery filler seems to have posted a creditable rating.

is Corrie now in full blown ratings crisis mode then?
