My bad, I just assumed it started at half 8.

7.39m (32.2%) for the 8.30 episode.

Indeed, DS has just updated the soaps:

19:00 - Emmerdale: 6.31m (35.6%) / 6.46m (36.4%)
19:30 - Coronation Street: 7.67m (39.4%) / 7.86m (40.4%)
20:00 - EastEnders: 6.07m (28.7%), +2.5: 375k (2.6%)
20:30 - Coronation Street: 7.39m (32.2%) / 7.62m (33.2%)

People making up ratings-what is the point, I don't get it are posters actually getting kicks out of people chatting about there fake stats, this thread has reached a new low today. Maybe we need a ratings thread+1 to chat about the ratings the next day when all info is gathered!! Ha ha

Hardly. All those ratings for the ITV soaps up on the equivalent day last year. Only Eastenders down.

I doubt it hurt Corrie tbh with it's older skew

The soaps aren't significantly down from last week. SHIELD didn't have that much of an impact on them.

I think he's still struggling to come too terms that the BBC's flasghip drama is flagging and still waiting for a day when Corrie has a lowish figure to pass on the crisis.

But it does still have over a million in the 16-34 category, where Friday is usually its lowest rated of the week.

So all the soap ratings perfectly fine, except for EE, which was basically a flop, considering it was effectively our first viewing of the much admired Michael French.

Wow! That does include +1 right?

Not too shabby. That's the 15 minute peak though, isn't it? I say that because it's not that much higher than the average.

He also said 6.1m for EastEnders which was also correct.

Can't blame them. It'll get crushed tonight anyway.

Nice to see Celebrity Chase getting trailed.

Good share for the first Corrie. The second was definitely dented but it still held up OK.

Maybe Gala bingo had a big jackpot and this led to fewer viewers for Coronation St

What did the IT Crowd get? Given how SHIELD performed I would assume it did quite well.

It got 1.46m (6.6%) excluding +1, Hassaan. Not too great. Though in the DSRPG, I predicted around that level at 1.4m.

Corrie is about the same as last week but EE and EM are both down with EM having the biggest decrease with +1 nearly 500k down.

Thanks for that. I guess it's not too bad but maybe it'll timeshift pretty well.

On another note, wasn't there a show on Sky1 early in the morning, which had a relatively low overnight but timeshifted to over a million? I remember it being mentioned before and seeing it on the overnights.tv website.

Strictly around about where it's been for the past two years, share was up on last year so nothing to worry about. I think it's likely to be up year on year tonight though due to the later start.

Past ratings for the first Saturday show:
2010 (18:00) - 8.71m (41.6%)
2011 (18:00) - 7.5m (41%)
2012 (18:30) - 8.72m (40.7%)

SHIELD - 2.76m (12.6%) at 8pm (471k/2.1% +1)

DS article is up

I never thought I'd be so pleased to see a DS update.

Quote:
“The first episode of the new series of Strictly Come Dancing scored 7.81m (35.2%) on BBC One on Friday (September 27), overnight data suggests.

The audience peaked at 8.07m at 9.45pm, roughly on a par with last year's opener. It was down 620k on the September 7 launch show.

Meanwhile on Channel 4, Joss Whedon's highly-anticipated Marvel's Agents of SHIELD launched to 2.76m (12.6%) at 8pm (471k/2.1%).

Back on BBC One, The One Show interested 3.65m (20.6%) from 7pm, after which Ronnie's Animal Crackers appealed to 2.46m (12.7%) at 7.30pm. Miranda took 3.32m (14.6%) at 8.30pm and John Bishop Live: Rollercoaster Tour attracted 2.44m (21.5%) at 10.45pm.

BBC Two showed Hairy Bikers' Everyday Gourmets to 1.43m (7.7%) at 7pm. Mastermind and Gardeners' World then took 1.97m (9.3%) and 2.26m (9.9%) respectively from 8pm, while David Attenborough's Rise of Animals: Triumph of the Vertebrates had 1.43m (6.5%) at 9pm. QI grabbed 1.99m (11%) at 10pm.

On ITV, Gino's Italian Escape was seen by 2.79m (13.2%) from 8pm (93k/0.4%). Piers Morgan's Life Stories followed with 2.03m (9.2%) at 9pm (322k/2%) and The Break-Up took 520k (5.3%) from 10.45pm (45k/0.8%)

The finale of The IT Crowd secured 1.46m (6.6%) on Channel 4 at 9pm (380k/2.3%), while Alan Carr: Chatty Man aired to 1.63m (10.7%) at 10pm (200k/2.1%).

On Channel 5, The World's Strongest Man earned 391k (2.1%) at 7pm (22k/0.1%) and Monster Moves took 617k (2.8%) an hour later (74k/0.3%). CSI:NY was viewed by 944k (4.3%) at 9.15pm (184k/1.1%) and The Punisher was seen by 723k (5.8%) at 10pm (51k/0.7%).

Family Guy was the most watched broadcast on the multichannels, picking up 656k (6.6%) on BBC Three at 11.20pm.”

Ouch for Life Stories - I believe that's its joint lowest overnight rating ever.

An episode on 10 April 2010 also got 2m.

Ho, ho, actually I quite like SCD, mainly for the female pro dancers. Not since TOTP stopped using female dancers have I enjoyed a programme so much. The fact it rates well helps.

Out of interest, do you know how those Saturday figures compare with the Friday episodes the night before? It'll be interesting to see if there's a pattern and it might be easy to predict how much it'll increase by tonight. Thanks.

I predicted on the ratings game that Strictly would get 9.1m tonight. I still think it'll beat X Factor, but I fear I may have overpredicted a little bit.
