Bootcamp was much better this year than last, good changes to the format.

I do see your point but Stepping Out is intended to be a lower-budget production.

Hmm, I kinda enjoyed Strictly and X Factor but there were a lot of awful contestants in each. Anyway, I reckon both should rate well. Not sure the bootcamp changes will have made much difference though but I suppose we shall see tomorrow.

Shame it's not in the actual show

Wonder if Strictly will jive or waltz all over it tomorrow

They got rid of the main 'joke act' tonight (Souli Roots). No other obvious novelty acts immediately spring to mind.

I think X Factor should break 9m tonight. It was actually very entertaining in my opinion. They've got to make sure it runs smoothly tomorrow night.

I don't constantly moan about EastEnders at all. What on earth are you jabbering on about?

I agree I really enjoyed it tonight. First episode this series that properly engaged me.

LOL. Not sure it still stands but before today's match Moyes had had the best league start of a new Man Utd manager since 1946. Says more about the predecessor I suspect.

Back to TV and it only took them 10 years but they finally got Bootcamp right. A much better format and something structured that keeps people watching throughout rather than tuning in at the end to find out who got through. Still a bit odd they spend an hour on the girls leaving just 20 minutes tonight and the rest of tomorrows show to get through the rest - but guess the talent dictated that.

So my prediction for tomorrow is X Factor will just about nudge it (though considering the competition Strictly should really, so I'm not so sure). However they rate though I'm sure it'll be spun as a great result for Strictly and a poor one for X Factor.

Which also is nothing new. Mrs Brown's Boys too.

Bad Education, that's a different story.

I fully expect Strictly to dance all over The X Factor in the ratings but preferred the latter; I think Strictly stacked their best dancers into last night's show which made tonight's feel very flat. Luckily it didn't have much in way of competition.

Talking about last night, Strictly performed well but the soaps were seriously dented by a brilliant performance from Agents of SHIELD.

I disagree Strictly was anything but flat tonight. I really enjoyed it and that hairy biker Dave was so funny.

The X Factor is getting like Big Brother with the bootcamp twist, I also hope the audience will drop as viewers dislike the twist. Well done to BBC1 for trying something new tonight

Not sure I would quite agree with flat but maybe they have a few too many Vanessa types who aren't going to be that funny and who aren't going to progress. The hairy biker chap was good and they have some simply fabulous female contestants but they lack a dance talented male celebrity this time. The early rounds are maybe a little too predictable as to who will go.

Dance wise Dave was rubbish and (as with every year) it begs the question what the point is of trying when someone can appear, play the joker and get through. But it's never harmed the show before.

I do think they needed to mix the celebrities up a bit more; maybe move Mark or Susanna to Saturday for one or two of the weaker couples.

What? A Merlin rip off because the cast didn't want to continue with the original?

I have to agree. I can't believe that Strictly have so many joke contestants this year. They should not want to go down the road of the X factor

Just to clarify, when I say "good" I mean "rubbish"

He is a real character, the problems are people who aren't good dancing defensively and not doing much more than boringly walking around.

I said this earlier but was soon shot down by some die hard fans. I really, in my honest opinion, think that they should have put some of their dancers from last night's show on tonight as it would have been a better show. The worst dancers were put on tonight, except Abbey. The ratings will still do well though
