How many Syco productions have ITV aired over the last decade? I can think of four: Britain's Got Talent, The X Factor, Red or Black? and Food Glorious Food. Have there been any others?
Isn't that enough?

Im afraid not Cyclon. The Inside Soap website release a lot of spoliers though or indeed Digital Spy soap forum. I commend the need for new casting but it been quiet on plotlines so far and what he has planned. The very key to it coming back on form. However if we were to go back to the days of not knowing stories in advance I wouldn't mind. Perhaps he will be more secretive than some producers I dont know. A good start is by strengthening characters and he created Shirley Carter so not a surprise he would create her a sister rather tban axe her. Expect to see a bit more screen time and stories for these two. I felt he should create another and have a family of sisters!
As the BBC has an EE press office devoted to putting out story lines in advance it might be bad news for some if DTC decides to be more secretive. They really should get Simon Ashdown to write more episodes as his scripts are usually terrific although I suspect he is busy with the Christmas episodes at the moment.DTC was also behind the Ronnie ''baby snatch'' story which ended rather abruptly if you recall.

I'll be interested to see how Wentworth held up with a terrible lead in. Hopefully it stayed around a million.
800k for Wentworth (900k inc +1)

Lol, absolutely deserved, singularly worst comedy I've seen in years, why oh why the BBC commissioned a comedy to Jason Byrne is beyond comprehension, (hint He's not remotely funny)

1.6m for Father Figure last night? Citizen Khan and Mrs Brown's Boys started higher than that I think. That's low.

Yep, they both started with 2.6m I think. Even The Wright Way started with around 2.2m I think. Very poor start for Father Figure.

As for the teatime gameshows, Pointless comfortably ahead just now, but we'll see how long it lasts for. Both are a bit down from Tuesday when Pointless averaged 3.4m versus 2.7m (3.0m inc +1) for The Chase.

Because sitcoms have all been terrible lately so the public think they're going to be rubbish before it starts. When a genre is so badly misjudged by the executives who are meant to know what they're doing, it will be only a matter of time before viewers stop losing faith in their "know how" and avoid their commissions totally.

In defence of The One Show (that felt weird to type) tonight's show had the rather bizarre combination of Usain Bolt and Brian Cox as guests which seems worthy of an hour slot. Not sure who they have lined up for the next couple of weeks however. And frankly any show that can find a more oddly matched choice of guests than that for a single show deserves some kind of award.
I saw this, brilliant stuff
I believe Simon Cowell has hypnotised the nation. Like 'The Master' on Doctor Who who used the sound of drums to get into everyones psyche, Cowell has put poison into the ITV airwaves. If you watch ITV, listen very very carefully. You can hear it. "You will follow me. You will love me. You can't throw in the towel, for I'm the mighty Simon Cowell". All ITV bosses have been turned into cybermen. They will obey the syco king. All those who fail to worship are deleted. After all you don't hear about Steve Brookstein anymore!
You sound like Samuel. Keen to just dent SCD to make XF have a bigger peak! Samuel isn't allowed to "crush" ITV but you are allowed to "dent" BBC. I think everyone on here are all as bad as each other. All of us clearly have an agenda. Mine is to prove that ITV bosses are Cybermen.
Your so right. I had not thought of it before but Cybermen is exactly what ITV bosses are. They want to steal your brains and make you think exactly like them - you know like watching someone eat insects and throw up is real entertainment or that Dermot Oleary actually has a personality. Its a good job that us BBC Daleks (who cant use the remote to turn over from BBC1) are here to oppose them.
I love this thread
From the few minutes I saw of Father Figure, I can see why it was dumped at 22:40 on a Wednesday.
Agree. What on earth is going on with sitcoms lately? Why can't there be just nice, real, warm comedies anymore? They all have to be idiotic and childish? Father Figure was Porn for CBeebies!
I think it will be interesting to see a breakdown for Father Figure.
Quite. The few minutes of it I had the misfortune of accidentally catching last night suffered the dreadfully predictable "I can't hear what you're saying because I've got headphones on, so I'm going to encourage you to repeat yourself louder and louder before taking my headphones off and asking you why you're shouting" 'joke'. Ugh.
Just for fun, here are our ratings (post counts) for the previous part of the Ratings Thread:
Spoiler
Crumbs. I thought I was a fairly regular poster on here but some of those post counts are more than four and a half times my own Glad to see you and I are in the same boat though, I've always liked pizza
Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson will complete The Voice UK's coaching line-up.
Interesting. There's not a hope many fans of 2005 indie music will be seen dead watching a TV talent show though so he'll need to be controversial in order to do anything for ratings.
Not a hugely surprising or indeed inspiring choice of fourth coach for The Voice.
Really? I think it's completely out of the blue...
I really don't see any comparison whatsoever, a reasonably credible artist who has been in the charts for nearly 10 years, compared to a bloke I'd never heard of before he got the Voice job, from what seemed like a glorified guitar boy-band.
.
The Script have had as many number one albums in the UK as Beyonce, and you wouldn't say she wouldn't merit a place on a Voice panel... Also the last two singles the Kaisers have had in the charts reached Number 111 and Number 179 - and one of those was in 2008. Their peak was a long time ago. I'd say Danny was far more likely to bring in viewers than Ricky.

Perhaps, and FTR, I don't much care if he's the better signing for the show, I just know who he is, and think he's a better signing for me. Same with Kylie over Jessie whatsherface. Maybe this is what they're trying to do to get a more Strictly audience, rather than poppy, which let's face it the x-factor has sown up.

I will state again, I would be happy if all these glorified karaoke contests were off our screen, and stop polluting TV and music with their over-produced pap.

Yet Wilson is more likely to make me watch, if I was really bored on a Saturday night, with nothing else on.

Poor Wentworth. Suffered from no big lead in but the 3 middle episodes are the weakest. From episode 7 onwards its unmissable so hopefully will pick up then.

The share for Wentworth excluding +1 was 5.6% which is still comfortably above the channel average of around 4.5%. Could well rise next week with a CSI:NY lead-in.

Agreed, I'm normally quite generous when it comes to first episodes of sitcoms, but that was truly bad!

Deservedly so for Brian Cox, but unexpected for CSS. Maybe a lack of similar shows for twentysomething women at the same time.

MBB started with 2.6m, and Citizen Khan started with 3.4m (bank holiday Monday).

I don't think even The Wright Way launched that badly!

The people in tv land are certainly aware of the problems with EastEnders going by Barbara Windsors interview on This Morning.

And Outnumbered launched with 4.1m in a 10.35pm slot on a Thursday I think. I doubt Father Figure would have done much better on a Monday, I think people didn't fancy it from the trailer or feel that BBC1 comedy is going to be bad and avoided it.
