Not Phil/Dot Popular but More fairly Popular

Since 2010 you only have to see the soap forums to see he is popular.

A lot of people agreed though that Death would be the only way he can go. Think the Storyline starts to build next week

*I don't like him though*

He is the only Character introduced by Kirkwood that seems to have worked (Bar Perhaps Cora)

Saturday Night Takeaway would get 5million against SCD. No other entertainemnt show Itv currently has realistically [bar the big guns: DOI/IAC/XF/BGT].

“It was doing 4m against Strictly last year. I think its not going to do much worse. With CC I don't think the demos matter too much.”

Celebrity Chase never aired against SCD last year, it aired in late August and early September before SCD returned. CC was getting 4million against Countryfile's 5-6million. Up against SCD's 8m and airing on a less-watched Saturday night, it will dip in the ratings.

The demos are all-important: they're what the advertising within the programme are sold on. I'm not sure whether it would be 16-34s for The Chase or another demo, but it will be sold on a demo (assuming there is actually advertising in the programme).

TV Burp also comes to mind.

Didn't CC air against SCD for the first Sunday result show?

You're forgetting that The Chase does well at teatime, albeit down on last year. That should help it. Has helped Pointless.

And why do you act like it'll be the end of the world if it dips slightly? Only you would give yourself an ulcer after a dip in ratings.

No, the first SCD Sunday results show last year was a week after CC ended.

I dont think it's the end of the world. Im just advising you that youre being optimistic expecting it to get 4million in that slot. The data for it last series and competition it faces indicates it probably will be closer to 3m tonight rather than 4m+.

Too high IMO; I think it'll just about get over 7m. Strictly feels flat to me for some reason but I'm sure it'll still manage at least 9m despite the early start.

Yes, I am being optimistic about a show I like. I would say the same to you about EE and The Voice. Got a problem with optimism?

What if it does get 4m and you make yourself look like a tool again?

What gives you the impression that I like Eastenders?

I got downton abbey prediction wrong the other week but besides that, my predictions have been quite good over the last couple months. It wont get 4million [excl +1].

Strictly and X Factor will hurt each other with long clashes.

Sorry, meant SCD.

You thought no new show on ITV would get 5m+. This prediction will always come back to haunt you.

You thought the first Sunday XF this series rated badly because the rating was reported late. You thought The Voice would hurt BGT. I bet £69 that you didn't think XF would be back above 9m on Sunday after getting below 8m on Saturday.

Fair enough - although i don't expect you to accept it if you're wrong.

Are you missing Brucie?

I don't think so. I think the judges are being left to comment for too long which sucks some of the fun out of it.

"Strictly Come Dancing" firing on all cylinders I think. Flows better without Bruce Forsyth im afraid its much better show without him. A very sparky show tonight.

Disagree. It's a good show tonight but it doesn't seem complete without Bruce. I think perhaps they should have got O grady or someone along those lines to cover.

He would make a good host I reckon.

SCD is a long show tonight but there is great variety in the cast and its working well.
It does seem strange without SBF though.

I think its getting used to him not being in there anymore. If there was a revamp he would be presumably replaced with a comedian. But I do think when they get a stand in its never a like for like because it doesn't do his ego any good. The show is stronger without him now im afraid and I think the ratings will be higher than last week people watching live. He puts fans off.

I'm really missing Brucie - the king of Saturday night entertainment. I don't think the show is the same without him. I hope he makes a speedy recovery in time for next week.

Saying that, I do think the show will still get 9m+ this week.

He was the original choice for BGT iirc. There are always rumours that every year will SBF last, but I think the BBC should think strongly about Paul OG when the time comes. If ITV haven't signed him up ofcourse.

I think O grady is the man to replace him. He's popular and seems to be on BBC more these days (Guests in Holby and this BBC sitcom coming up)

I guess we shall see but I still think Bruce is popular but of course he isn't as big as Strictly it self (meaning he's not the star of the show)

It won't win back a single viewer though because the character isn't a big character outside of the show, so they won't care he's being murdered - unlike the death of Hayley Cropper in Corrie for example who has some kind of presence outside the soap too so even people not watching kind of know who she is and will be intrigued enough to watch her final episodes.

Can't say I agree, I like it when they can give a decent amount of feedback.
