'EastEnders' is top Thursday soap with Sam health shock http://dspy.me/18GKxWd
How?!?!?! Saw the last ten mins of it for the first time in months it was awful!! Reminds me of that useless Asian family who had a kidney storyline.

Are we THAT stupid in this country?

Thanks for the ratings Mike. Will the Peaky Blinders rating be lower because Wales had something else at 9pm?

EE- 6.99mil
ED- 6.75mil and 6.63mil

That's not great for ED considering it had the climax to the Cameron storyline.

People have different opinions to you, you can't call a country stupid because you didn't like it. Plus if you only saw ten minutes how the hell would you know what was happening.

But the 2 shows aren't remotely similar.
Ones got dogs on, the others got dogs on.

Both Stepping Out and Strictly have dancing

We've heard non sop in this thread that ITV are copying the BBC (which maybe they are), but then when it comes to BBC copying ITV its all 'ok' apparently. Today on BBC1 they have Ronnie's Animals crackers (or something along these lines) another Paul O Grady Dogs inspired programme.

Your first point in Bold is an almost perfect demonstration of the second point in bold.

How on Earth do you expect to make a fair and reasonable judgement of something by tuning in for 10 mins at the end? Clearly you'd made your mind up before you even watched it.

Remember DS is not representative of the country as a whole... and you know, maybe people are enjoying it!

I love the BBC but also love television. We have to be fair. We can't criticise ITV for doing a substandard copy of Strictly with Stepping Out, then turn a blind eye when the BBC do something inspired by another channel's success. Maybe it's the natural extension of The Secret Life Of The Cat, but it feels like a it was given the go ahead very quickly due to ITV's success.
I must have missed the episode of POG's show where he talked about genetic development and selective breeding... They are completely different shows with a different focus; if the BBC2 show could be compared to anything, it was their own Secret Life of the Cat.

Remember Ice if Em or Corrie do well it's deserved if EE does well it's a travesty - this is DS don't forget

Despite a marked rise in quality for the whole of September apparently EE still doesn't deserve to do well...

Well done to both shows. Em is on fire. EE is picking up nicely. Fair play to both.

I am an ex viewer of EE and I think a lot of their fans are in denial that the show is basically dying a slow death. No matter how many stunts, returnees or anything can fix the show.

This is the Ferrirea family part two with the Hartmans.

Isn't that O'grady dog crap in a dogs home, not haven't watched it I am not sure. Last nights programme was about the origins and how dogs look different to each other, thats like saying only one channel is allowed to show programmes about food or quiz shows which is ridiculous.

I disagree EE is in no way dying a slow death. If it was then ED should be worried it managed to beat is massive climax with just a standard episode. EE has really started to improve these last couple of weeks and its nice to see fans sticking with it.

Nice to see WR back over 3million.
Still low though.

A couple of years ago it was getting over 4 million opposite Coronation Street at this time of year.

They're all technically dying a slow death... they won't last forever.

But really? I mean come on. The show has already proved there's life in it yet and the BBC are all over it in terms of realising they've been far to idle in recent years. They even released a statement staying as much.

It won't happen overnight but it's looking promising and the new producer knows how to tell a good story or two which is what the show really needs.

And the Hartmans are nothing like the Feirreras! They were a mess from the start with interchangeable personality free children, and a dad without a work permit which rendered them completely pointless. Kidneygate only came about because the actor playing the dad got deported.

But i like how this story has been judged before it's even played out for one episode! Literally the story has only just started. Just because kidneygate was crap doesn't mean ALL kindey related storylines are!

Anyway, just remembered this is a ratings thread I'll take this conversation elsewhere

Celebrity Juice improved to 1.13million Inc+1 yesterday, hopefully the rise will continue. Usually the rpt on Saturday rates between 500-700k.

According to DS, the equivalent episode two years ago brought in 1.43m and the equivalent episode last year rated 1.59m.

I've never understood the appeal but the fall in viewership did take me by surprise. Overkill ?

Its just a good laugh, but yes its a mystery as to why it dropped so much in a year. I think perhaps as all shows go through its past its peak and ITV need to search for an alternative when CJ eventually dies completely. However it is increasing each week which is a positive.

Emmerdale is fine. It's more concerning that EastEnders still can't go much above the 7m mark and with Barbara Windsor even admitting EastEnders is the third soap, the future is looking bleak for the ailing soap.

Corrie "only" managed 7.7 million the night before. Is Corrie ailing too?

Yet it was 2 million ahead of EastEnders on Monday and is posting good shares of 40%. Corrie is fine as well. Its ratings do fluctuate, but overall its healthy, whilst EastEnders' figures aren't budging despite all the character returns and big stunts.

The fact that Barbara Windsor, one of EastEnders' biggest stars, admitted live on TV that EastEnders isn't much cop anymore will further harm the general public's perception of the show.

Another fantastic rating for Educating Yorkshire. It's the only Ch4 show I am currently watching and one of the only programs that all of my housemates in uni watch.

Celebrity Juice starting to recover, but still down on last year. Superspa... not good at all, under 500k excl +1.
