Actually I do see your point, though the 10pm Sunday slot after CBB looks fairly okay if they were to put it there or even to fill one of the 8pm spaces somewhere.

I agree in hindsight that they should save it for better material.

On second thoughts, I believe something like this could work:

9pm Betrayal

I've just had an e-mail from Channel 5.

They are now going to show the last ever episode of CSI: New York "Today is Life" in week commencing October 19. (along with the penultimate episode in the series)

I was wondering, how many different versions of CSI are there? If I wanted to watch some of it (my friend lives for it, I thought I'd see what the fuss is about), which one do you think is best?

CSI:NY has always been my favourite. Vegas was better during the Grissom era. Miami is easily the worst of the three, but has some appeal, not least the location.

Reruns on 5USA most evenings. And for many years to come I expect.

I think NY is my fav. VEGAS used to be but no longer.

Betrayal will likely be aired on 5* or 11pm on the main channel. I wonder what will replace CSI: NY on Tuesdays? I'm thinking Person of Interest or Body of Proof season 3 as that's only got 13 episodes so could air from October to January.

There must be a reason why they were so keen to get through CSI:NY quickly.

I thought Person of Interest would end up on Fridays with a break in January whilst CBB is on but I'm not sure now. At least on Tuesday nights it could air uninterrupted.

Person of Interest series 2 is 23 episodes which would excluding maybe a week off in December would finish by March which would then be replaced by CSI. Fridays could be The Mentalist and Body of Proof, Mentalist has to take a midseason break anyway to allow CBB to air and also so they're not too close to transmission.

Good idea. Especially as US TV ratings is becoming more popular on here these days.

No need. US ratings (like UK) are only popular for a third of the year. And US ratings can tell us what happens when the same shows hit this side of the pond. See: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for example.

Channel 5 Provisional Scheduling

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs premieres on Sunday, October 20 at 4:10pm ahead of the sequel's UK cinema release a few days later.
CSI: NY finale night will run from 9pm through to 11:50pm on Tuesday, October 22. (Final two episodes + a repeat of pilot/memorable past episode?)
Benidorm ER returns Thursday, October 24 at 8pm.
Person of Interest season two starts Thursday, October 24 at 10pm.

The Paradise is on Sundays at 8pm from Sunday 20 October, BBC One.

Murder in the Alps is the 9pm offering on Monday 21 October on BBC One.

The first of the 4 final Poirot films is on ITV at 8pm on Wed 23 October.

Brilliant scheduling! In such a cushy post SCD Sunday night slot, this should be destined for 5.5m+, considering what antiques roadshow has been getting. The BBC are very good with scheduling on Sunday nights and now every year they will have two top period dramas airing at 8pm.

Wow, I wasn't expecting so much news today. Exciting times ahead for BBC One - I'm more interested in the new look iPlayer and how it's going to evolve over the next year or two and become more than just a catch up service.

I'm not surprised BBC1 +1 is launching, I thought it was only going to be a matter of time. Someone made a good point earlier about 'smart recording'. For example, on my Freeview+ box I can only record one show and watch another live, or I can record two shows at the same time (but i can't watch something else live on another channel at the same time).

So the +1 option is an extra option, if things clash on other channels that I wish to record. For example tonight, I want to record Masters of Sex on Channel 4 and Silent Witness on Drama at 9pm, and watch The Wrong Mans on BBC2 at the same time. But I can't do that, so I'm watching the Wrong Mans live, recording Silent Witness at 9pm and recording Masters of Sex at 10pm on Channel 4+1.

Onto last night's figures, nice to see Under the Dome back on that 1 million mark on Channel 5. I hope Wentworth sees a similar rise - I'm absolutely in love with that show at the moment and apparently the final few episodes of this first series are absolute corkers, so I hope the audience sticks with it and we see some gains.

Glad they're going with the Sunday slot for The Paradise, should pick up the Antiques Roadshow audience easily as well as those waiting for Downton Abbey. At the least it will rate as well as it did last year. Hope it works and encourages them to put more drama in the 8pm slot.


Everything points to Ripper Street taking that slot, which I think will suit Mondays more than it did Sundays.

I've done one already. I know a lot of the time, it will be quite dead, but between September-May are usually very busy in terms of ratings with new shows starting and many shows returning. In the summer however, there would be nothing to report.

BBC1 actually put The Paradise on Sunday!

With a resurgent X Factor, BBC1 might have missed a trick by not putting it there last year so it could try and establish itseld. We'll see what happens but I'm glad there is something else decent on Sunday after Strictly's results show.
