Fantastic for Bake Off again.
A bit rubbish for Midwives to only be scraping 2m with that lead-in though. Posh Pawn did quite well for C4 though. New Tricks solid again. |

Bake Off would have been averaging over 6m two weeks ago had it not been for the football. The final could be huge!
Yes that's true the football may affect its overnight. I think BBC Two should have been brave and broadcast on Sundays at 7 or 9 pm |

the week starting 5th october should see the bbc autumn drama really kick in. With the monday and tuesday 9pm slot finally free (am I right in saying that)- we should be seeing the paradise, possibly ripper street, the escape artist or maybe another drama. I think bbc1 will put in a drama on wednesday or thursday as well (I know that bbc2 will be showing peaky blinders but honestly despite its amazing critical reception, it looks set to lose quite a chunk of viewership). Will be exciting to see the schedule for that week when its released this thursday, right?????

Although EE figures are above 7million its share hasn't budged from the usual Tuesday ratings its been getting for weeks. The nights are getting darker earlier, more people are indoors its ratings 'should' be going up, otherwise it if ratings stayed under 7million its share would be under 30% most of the time.
However if Emmerdale is on track to becoming the 2nd soap, every episode since 6th September (minus being shunted forwards 15mins before football) have outrated EE. |

Not a bad a rating for NT, considering it was (once again) up against the football. And I agree, it was an amazing episode last night.

What are you suggesting the BBC put in its place, a testcard or get berated for putting on fillers & rubbish against the football? |

However if Emmerdale is on track to becoming the 2nd soap, every episode since 6th September (minus being shunted forwards 15mins before football) have outrated EE. Also it was a cracking episode. A combined overnight of 7.5 million is really solid... if it can creep up by another 0.5 million throughout autumn then it's doing well. All this 2nd soap stuff is really misleading as it's based only on overnights and not on total viewers... When you factor in both screenings of each show yesterday they are virtually neck and neck. Then factor in other omnibus and itv & i-player and EE still eventually comes out on top. It's one thing winning the battle but another winning the war. Not taking anything away from Emmerdale of course it's doing brilliant and i hope it keeps it up as it will keep EE on it's toes as it chases it's glory days again. |

Ah ok that could explain it then. Such a shame people missed it then as it was a great episode and I take it that was Sandra's last episode to wasn't it?

Doc Martin is still stronger than NT and would beat it on Mondays. It's still well above 7m unlike NT.
The football is where it should be for the group stages. Itv will be happy with 4.5m average. |

Last night's Bake Off was a travesty the producers clearly had it in for one of the tentmates from the off, they set a task they knew he wouldn't be good at. Also, why does Mel dislike Frances her deliberate demolition of the biscuit tower caught on camera was outrageous. The producers clearly have a favourite in Ruby, how come she's allowed to have secret messages on her wrist, I thought they weren't allowed communication with the outside world?
Apart from that, yet another success for Emma Willis. |
