It could have been on Mondays before Doc Martin started. New Tricks always does better on Mondays.

I don't understand the "EE hasn't budged" argument.

Wasn't it regularly getting figures in the 5-6m range over the summer? It hasn't been the massive boost that for whatever reason people were expecting to happen overnight but there's definitely been a slight improvement in EE's overnights when compared to the summer months. Emmerdale are peaking several of their big stories at the moment and to their credit are getting some great numbers. EE are only really starting to get some stories on the go after months of not much so it's going to take time before any upsurge in quality is reflected in the ratings.

Really? I think NT would win as the only reason that was under 7mil was because of the football. Doc Martin on the other had is falling and that hasn't got any competition. So just imagin if NT was against it.

Surely I gets more viewers on Monday than Tuesday maybe not against Doc Martin but still.

This. The fact EE has started to maintain its audience is a good thing. And as you said ED is doing all their big stories now and in fairness is doing really well. However what will happen when it starts to go back to normal day to day things that's the question. Will it fall or maintain how well its doing now.

Good to see Ben Frow making good on his pledge to rid C5 of crass "shock doc" titles.

700,000 for 'The Cross Dressing Cannibal' last night.

Doc Martin is going out on Monday nights and has weaker competition than New Tricks. Doc Martin has always timeshifted more than New Tricks though. Agree about the football, good ratings for the early Champions League stages. Being a Man U match also helped.

Thanks Bushmills. A dip for Bad Education but it's still doing well and rating better than some BBC2 sitcoms.

I'm just shocked that UCOS are hiring somebody that they caught for a murder previously! She was in it before as a guest.

Don't forget mind people are able to watch the next episode of Bad Education on i player so that's bound to effect it's ratings.

When does Frow's vision of the channel start to kick in?

Doubt that a move to a mainstream channel would harm "The Great British Bake Off" its only going to add viewers at this stage.

True but it went up to around 930k last week then Bad Education dropped this week.

Hmm, it rates better in Germany even though the format originated here...

Good once again for Bake Off, but I don't see a huge increase just yet.

One of. It's getting the same ratings Top Gear was getting a few years ago.

Good enough for New Tricks, not great for the football.

Good again for Bad Education but it's down on last week.

How long before that makes it to BBC1/2 though?

We're most unlikely to hear about that from Bushmills, who shines the light on negatives exclusively. (unless it's the Beeb)

I think moving Bake Off to a slot with stronger competition could work against it on BBC1. Autumn Sundays against The X Factor? Bad idea. 9pm against some drama? Bad idea. It would have to stay on Tuesday on BBC1 and they move Holby for 14 weeks.

Here's a few we didn't get from Bushmills (wonder why)

10PM
Later Live: 677,000 (3.8%)
Cutting Edge: Fabulous Fashionistas: 1.13m (7.2%) / 1.29m inc. +1
CSI: New York: 1.20m (7.4%) / 1.30m inc. +1

Great rating for CSI:NY out of its usual slot. Next week's 4 night special event should do well.

Emmerdale is doing really well. It's consistently beating EastEnders on first runs now.

Quote:
“The UK’s Channel 5 and Globosat in Brazil are among the broadcasters taking a documentary on the British Royal Family from distributor Content Television.

The Royals is a six-part doc series from Back2Back Productions that aims to provide the definitive look at royal life.

C5 will premiere the show in a primetime slot later this year and distributor Content has also secured sales to DirecTV in Latin America, and LIC in China.”

Perhaps move it to January at Sunday at 8pm? It would go against "All Star Family Fortunes" and be a lead in to "Call the Midwife" at 9 pm. But agree Tuesday evening is its traditional home. Id only be happy to see BBC One look after it. Its my favourite show and looked after by BBC Two Hadlow who is uninterested in ratings.
