The critics have already seen the opening episode at the preview screening and the response was overwhelmingly positive.

Looks like the deputy Sun TV editor never got an invite.

Maybe you didn't that time - but judging by stuff you've posted in the past, you definitely do.

And one negative comment means backlash?!

In fairness, the critics would love Downton even if the episode was an hour of the cast sitting around a table playing Monopoly. It is an incredibly hyped up show. It is a phenomena.

I can sense it in the air. Watch the media reaction the next few days once the ratings for it [probably going to be its worst rating opener since 2010] are in, you'll see a more negative tone written about it.

XF held up fine last night. There's a lot of talk on here about its ratings as per - but there's not much to say as ratings so far have stabilised and slightly up y-o-y - yet this generates pages and pages of comments going around in endless circles. This thread has become terribly tedious recently and is been derailed by several posters.

No, it's the average primetime share across the week.

I don't watch DA and have never seen a single second of it. And I bet you haven't either. Yet everyday you make it your mission to slate a show on ITV. Worst series opener ever, lowest rated ever blah blah blah. Tell me Samuel, why do you expect ratings to increase all the time? In this age of TV that more often than not does not happen. Yet if something is down 0.5m on its previous series, its disaster stations, in danger of been axed and a crisis. You're hatred for ITV is beyond odd and I don't understand why you care so much?!

It hasn't been derailed. It's just you don't like post after post about X-Factor. Fair enough, but it is to be expected in a TV Forum thread about TV Programmes and their ratings! Posters are allowed to express their views no matter how barmy.

Going by the past, I sense it in the air () that he'll ignore the above post completely.

To be fair Roscoe, between 9.30am to 3pm, only the XFactor rating had been reported. We had nothing else to talk about hence all the posts about it! If jscummins or others tweeted more ratings, the focus wouldnt be on XFactor so much!

It gets to something when BBC cuts are so deep that even posts on here are repeats!

Sorry that there were so many lie ins today, that we barely got any other ratings until the afternoon.

Posts like "Worst series finale/opener" etc are repeats. But I shan't fuel the fire. I've had enough fun on here today as it is.

What happened to those attentional free trials or tvratingsuk? Can people still apply for the free trials or is it over. It was good because there used to be more ratings reported. Every Sunday morning the XFactor rating is the only one to be reported for about 5 hours, so it's hardly surprising it's becoming the topic of conversation when the other ratings arent being mentioned.
