What happened to those attentional free trials or tvratingsuk? Can people still apply for the free trials or is it over. It was good because there used to be more ratings reported.
One thing I really love about you Samuel is that everything just rides over your head!

Every Sunday morning the XFactor rating is the only one to be reported for about 5 hours, so it's hardly surprising it's becoming the topic of conversation when the other ratings arent being mentioned.
TXF rating generated a lot of talk to today. But why?

IMO, the show is now rating pretty much the same every week yet somehow everyone is finding a lot to say on it.

The fact is, its not suffered a huge dip (so far) this year and its not doing amazingly well. Basically, the current set of figures please no one!

In fairness, the critics would love Downton even if the episode was an hour of the cast sitting around a table playing Monopoly. It is an incredibly hyped up show. It is a phenomena.
I'm sure someone would point out that said game wouldn't be historically accurate though. Unless the Downton time jumps have gotten really out of hand.

Considering the rest of the ratings from yesterday I'd say it's doing brilliantly. It's only when you put Strictly's figures up against it that it suddenly looks anemic. But commercial television has nothing else to replace it so, while it stays stable between 8-10m, it has nothing to worry about whatsoever.

Come on Alex! You know and I know and THEY know that are many inaccuracies in Downton. But, it doesn't matter! It's Downton! If they had a 42" LED TV in the corner no one would care!

Once credibility has been blown to shreds a million times, it's hard to get it back.

It is doing well. It's the expectations in this thread from how its performed in the past. We all know TXF is not the ratings beast it used to be, but like you say, 8-10m audiences are very decent.

From all I read on here you'd think it was either at 6m now or back up at 12m. It's none of them, yet despite 4-weeks of pretty much identical figures, there's still loads to be said (apparently).

Yeah it was entertaining and fairly easy to understand, nothing to gritty or complex about it. Should hopefully get 3.5million.

The irony of a spelling mistake while correct someone else strikes. Also if you were being particularly pedantic he didn't use a question mark despite asking a question.

Bootcamp could be interesting. If it can just sustain it's audition figures it will be doing well as Bootcamp tends to see a decline (save 2010) but it looks intriguing with the chair aspect this year. How will Atlantis effect it, though?

The irony indeed! It was my non existant iPad! Actually, if I'm honest, I do make mistakes on the keyboard. I had a stroke a few years ago so occasionally I have lapses and type things incorrectly. I didn't tonight though. My letters are disappearing from my keypad!
