Yes I think it has to be said the BBC are far stronger on Sundays than for many years. Heartbeat was unstoppable for 15 years or so and ITV had Coronation Street and stuff like Londons Burning/You've Been Framed ramming home the domination. All manner of stuff would appear on BBC1 and you knew most of it would be beaten all ends up and disappear very quickly.
The BBC have done well in recent years introducing Larkrise and Call The Midwife alongside Countryfile and AR and the presence of Strictly on Sundays. Obviously XF and DA are very strong but the important thing is that (as Steve Williams says) there are no embarrassing complete collapses.

They did indeed make that point on Breakfast this morning

A lot of fantasy schedules on this thread are amazingly conservative.”

Why does everything have to start on an ITV junction? And why shouldn't things "clash" anymore? Has it got to the stage where unless something starts on the hour or half hour, we're too thick to know it's on?

I see Bake Off is now being deployed to prop up both Saturday and Sunday night BBC1 schedules. Why don't they just open a bakery?

That's what I saw. And it has been pointed out that various members of the cast have not won anything on News at One. I mean its nothing to get carried away with and Im not suggesting anything deep but just that its not been presented completely deadpan so to speak.

Well, without XF, what props up Saturdays and sundays on ITV?

So let's congratulate Abi Morgan who got an Emmy for best writing on the BBC's The Hour (subsequently axed)

Karl Pilkington: Moaning Of Life starting Sunday 20th October according to the Sky Media site, assuming that doesn't change, I assume they're airing it at 10, I know it probably has a different audience, but surely they wouldn't air their brand new show against Downton?

The Hunt For Red October on a Channel 4 Monday lunchtime? Is it a Bank Holiday? (Not complaining mind).

NFL's live Wembley game next Sunday (Pittsburgh and Minnesota played 6, won zero) has the first half on Channel 4, and the second half on More 4

Shows the utter stupidity of putting NT on Tuesdays and clashing with the football (Scotland showing NT at a different time) - honestly a 5 year old could schedule better than the present BBC lot.

Those time-shift ratings for Corrie are fantastic, and it looks like Ronnie's return booted EE a bit from its usual low 7million weekly drop.

Just noticed Turkey is doing its own version of Eurovision called "Turkvision". They have 20 countries signed up apparently.

Surely an opportunity for Mr Cowell

If it stops these 20 countries entering Eurovision, then all the better!

I bet they haven't got Greece or Syria signed up but will have (northern) Cyprus as they are the only country in the world that recognises the Turkish north.

This would be fine if they were a little more adventurous the other 8 months of the year. Given the massive success that Call the Midwife has had in the Sunday 8PM slot its slightly surprising to me that they haven't commissioned more drama for that slot.

I don't know that that's entirely true. Certainly the Downton cast were never anything but long shots for the lead categories (although its worth pointing out that the actual winner in lead actor was considered the longest of long shots before he won) but Maggie Smith was certainly one of the favourites to win supporting actress so its notable that she didn't win. Especially as she won last year (and won for mini-series the year before that) and the general feeling is that if you want to acknowledge and award Downton then Maggie Smith is the safest/best way to do it. It was a very peculiar and unexpected night though highlighted by one of the better jokes from host Neil Patrick Harris – This just in. No one in America is winning their Emmy office pool.

Its a shame that (quality wise) its all down hill from episode one.

One of the seven or so major surprises of the night.

It's a show to showcase Eurasian regions that have strong likes to Turkish diaspora so countries like Azerbaijan and Ukraine will be there along with Crimea and Tataristan as regions. It will be closer to Bundevision in that sense (yet TRT have adapted something they already have.) Not sure if Bundevision would really work here.

Way in the future yet but I wonder if the BBC will take an interest in the 60 years of Eurovision celebration in 2015? They did not take part in the 50 years celebrations despite two entries and the host being the last UK winner. (If they do them of course) SCD clashed with the 50 years.

Even if Scotland is discounted from the overnight rating because of the football, surely they would still watch NT afterwards on iPlayer? Why have those ratings not been included?

Breaking Bad winning wasn't a surprise, I imagine it will sweep it next year too. I suspect AMC knew this hence why they've split Man Mens final season although adding one more episode seems measly considering Breaking Bad got 16 episodes for its final season.

Modern Family winning again doesn't surprise me although none of the cast won anything, I wonder if any other show will get a look in next year?
