Itv being very sneaky showing Coro St on Sundays up against SCD. They know exactly what they're doing, trying to damage SCD's result ratings and gift XFactor the ratings and PR win. Coro St could've easily been slotted into the Thursday 8.30pm slot as they have done previously, instead of Sunday.

Although if Breathless is launching on Thursdays moving them to Thu 8.30pm would be a better move for ITV.

18:10 - Surprise Surprise
19:10 - Coronation Street
19:40 - The X Factor
21:00 - Downton Abbey”

Still puzzled as to why X Factor is longer than an hour, though. Apart from that, it looks like a good fantasy schedule.

It's perfectly fine if ITV do it!

Countryfile could be slashed to 45 minutes (has done in the past) and SCD could just start at 7pm.

"Thats very naughty of Itv. How dare them, they are gifting themselves the PR win."

Just a thought, when was the last time a Sunday Corrie did reasonably well, though? They usually rate in the 6m range.

They do seem to most years have one results show randomly extended to 75 minutes for no logical reason at all.

I get confused about boot camps etc but if its an ordinary result show then there will be a huge amount of padding from 19.40.

Live results shows are only extended to 75 minutes to fit in another guest.

I think, when we get to the point where there is no sing-off anymore (either week 8 or 9), X Factor could be brought down to 45 minutes.

The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards was watched by an audience of 17.63m (4.9 in the demo). Comfortably up on the 3.9 rating achieved last year.

Bootcamp on Sunday is usually always 90 minutes long (as it is this year).

Every single Sunday show from then on until the final shouldn't really be longer than an hour. If it is, there will be a lot of padding going on, denting the overnight figure.

Well surely if they have two missing episodes on the Friday then it will surely go on the Thursday and one on the Sunday

Well it will be dented as (apart from facing Strictly) it wont have a great lead in from an earlier Surprise Surprise which it self will be facing Countryfile.

Its a possibility, boosts Breathless, and 'dents' SCD's first results show.

Might be Corrie overload though, given that the reason for the 'lost' episodes isn't until the following Friday.

Statistically they use Sundays for displaced Corrie's much more frequently than Thursdays. In fact since Corrie left Thursday I think it has only returned one or two times.

When Corrie faced SCD last year it got far less than that.

Downton Abbey [9.1m] actually rated slightly lower than the first episode of Call The Midwife [9.3million] this year. Therefore Call The Midwife is still the UK's most watched drama so far in 2013.

Sunday 15th October 2012. It was an hour long Corrie, 30 min SCD. The two started at 7pm, and the ratings were:

SCD - 8.06m (32.5%)

Corrie - 6.24m (25.3%), 484k (1.8%) on +1.

XF had 9.37m that night (345k +1)

Downton got 9.5m actually.

Not that I would expect you to acknowledge that ITV has a +1 channel.

Samuel, are you using the final figure or the overnight? If it is the former then you can't use the comparison as DA will likely gain another million or so on timeshift.

No it didn't. It only got 9.5 if you include +1. To compare with CTM we should only use the timeshifts on a like for like basis.

Amazing for Educating Yorkshire...truly brilliant stuff.

Grand Designs beats CELEBRITY Big Brother Final?? Ouch

He's using the overnight for CTM (9.32m/32.5%). That got 10.79m in the officials.

I think Downton will easily manage to timeshift by 2m+.

Im using the overnight rating for both Call The Midwife and Downton: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s101/...n-ratings.html

For fairness purposes, repeats/iplayer arent included. For their first showings, CTM beat DA.
