I can't see Pompeo leaving, to be horribly sexist (because it's a sexist business) she's not getting any younger, and no-one that has left the show have actually become big.

Rules aired its final season after HIMYM since Partners was axed after its initial run and it hit the magic 100 episodes for syndication. It'll be interesting if The Millers breaks that trend.

I'm still puzzled where they'll put three midseason sitcoms, one of them will likely replace We are Men but I'm not sure where the other two will go.



I think she has admitted that its a steady paycheck and she'll bow out of acting once it finishes and Dempsey who has starred in a few movies, admitted the money from Greys funds his car racing.

One of the quirks of Strictly's scheduling which has become 'tradition' - a bit like the glorified press launch before the show takes nearly three weeks off before starting again proper.

It's so they can stretch it out as long as possible.

According to Kevin O'Sullivan, the opening episode of Atlantis is just 'okay'. Nothing different or unique compared to all other fantasy dramas. He says some of the acting is 'atrocious'. So despite what some people are saying not every review about it has been positive, some have been mixed so far.

Channel 5 will finally screen the terrestrial premiere of Angels and Demons on Sunday, October 13.

The previous film in the series The Da Vinci Code attracted blockbuster ratings for its first screening in 2009, with just over 4 million viewers in the consolidated figures. It has been a strong repeat performer ever since.

Whilst I don't expect A&D to do quite as well, it should still be big. Considering how quiet things have been for them recently, it'll be a welcome boost.

About blooming time! Hopefully they'll show 2012 in the coming weeks as well. DaVinci was well timed as it was the week before Angels and Demons was released.

Hopefully there will be more terrestrial premieres in the coming weeks. Wonder who has the rights to Thor as the new film is out in a month so airing the previous film would be a good thing for whoever has the rights,

So with a potential 10million+ lead in from Strictly we should be looking at 6million+ for Atlantis, especially with its heavy promotion. It will do well, STOP LOWERING EXPECTATIONS!

Strictly has been advertised on the radio so many times and on TV, it will also do well and get over 8million (about 8.4million), its also got weak opposition from the other channels.

This is Grey's Anatomy's lowest ever season opener and the first one in the shows history not to open above a 4 (and it wasn't close). Its down 23% year-on-year and about 17% vs. the two-hour opener two years ago and down 33% compared to three years ago. Equally worthy of note is that from opener to closer last season it dropped 30%. If it repeats that kind of decline this year then it'll end the season with a 2.4. And worth mentioning that this 3.4 is Grey's best performance since last October.

So in reality compared to other returning series this week Grey's decline isn't looking all that good either.

You may not like this but Grey's Anatomy isn't in especially good health.


Scandal has certainly passed a 3.2 in Live+3 numbers and done it numerous times. You also seem to be missing the larger point that Scandal appears to be a show that's growing and gaining momentum which places it in stark contrast to Grey's Anatomy.


She doesn't need to work again. She's earned and will continue to earn more than enough from Grey's Anatomy. Her public comments on the matter seem to suggest that if she were to leave it would be to work less and spend more time with her family. I expect both her and Dempsey to sign on for another year although I expect at least one if not both of them to appear in fewer episodes.

Indeed. There is a massive difference in approach, SCD concentrates and consolidates around only one episode.

Whereas every XF episode is shown 8 times, by the time you factor in the ITV repeat, ITV2 repeats and all the +1's.

ITV Sat & Sun afternoon repeats are usually good for around 1m, ITV2 another 500k. So always around another 2-3m to be added to the main showings on Sat & Sun.

First XF live show in provisional schedules for 8pm-10.15pm (12 Oct).

SCD 6.30pm - 8.30pm.

They'll have at least one open space on Monday by November possibly two. They have potentially one or two open spaces on Thursday depending on how The Millers and The Crazy Ones do. And Big Bang repeats strong enough for them be able to ditch comedy repeats at 8:30 and launch another new show there.

No avoidable clash there, then. If X Factor try to avoid Strictly completely it won't finish until 22:45!

The length is ridiculous. I think its bound to lose some viewers on that basis, and I think it's going to be dragged out a lot. Same problem as last year. Would it hurt for them to claw back 15 minutes at best, even more if they are going to try running four acts back to back for once (well, they've done it before, back in 2010)?

If they are going to have an end of Saturday phone vote, can't see how it will be any shorter.

The difference between the Strictly and X Factor run times there is negligible especially when you take into account The X Factor's ad load. Strip out the ads and The X Factor's run time is probably significantly shorter than Strictly's which begs the question of why Strictly is running a two hour show and why people aren't questioning if that's a good idea.

If there is going to be, then that's probably understandable. Otherwise it shouldn't really be that long.

If they do garner enough momentum before the live shows though, people should be able to stick with it no matter the length but I doubt it.

Actually X Factor's length is less than Stricty in actual content. If ITV had no adverts TXF would be around 1hr 40minutes with 30minutes of adverts taken out. Strictly is 2hrs without adverts.

Because the longer Strictly is, the more of ITV it can 'crush' presumably.

So supposedly next year SCD will be maximum length of 3 hrs just to 'CRUSH' X Factor

Even with the adverts though, they managed to fit 12 performances (which I think it'll be, unless there's a wildcard) within 2 hours in the past. Last year, they had 13, and was 140 minutes long, and it was evidently dragged out as they bought One Direction on after the first performance for a pointless interview.
