regarding bbc one autumn it feels like they've given up, to be fair though its been since February. start a fresh in jan, a big campaign and forget 2013 happened.
If they left qi on bbc one, it would of fitted in empty comedy 9pm slots, plus 8.30 slots, giving them slightly more variety. Don't get me wrong qi should've stayed on 2 but to move it back has killed it ratings wise. With hignfy and qi totals up to 34 weeks of new comedy, I know they were on in the same period, but split each qi into two parts winter and summer. add in cin and comic relief, strictly launch, xmas, sporting events et. you would only need one other comedy to fill in the void.

Do you need to be shown the poster again?

Now autumn is onto us, it's time for a brand new season of the DS Ratings Prediction Game. If you're new to it, someone who used to play but decided to give it a rest, a regular or a player who dips in and out it'll be great to see you take part - so please give it a go.

THE WEEK ONE SCHEDULE CAN BE FOUND HERE

Good luck and thank you to all those who take part!

Holy smokes at that 2nd BBT rating Highest ever. Apart from the Superbowl and other sport events, when was the last time something got 20m+?

Brilliant start for The Crazy Ones!

Brilliant start for The Crazy Ones!”

The last episode of M*A*S*H in February, 1983, had an audience of 121.6 million according to Neilsen and rated higher than that year's Superbowl.

I think they were 105.9 million to watch the finale at the time, but I read that a lot. Where did you get the data from?

It's frequent for NCIS to go that high (the show went up to 22.86 million viewers in January last season) or, well, TBBT (which reached 20.003 million in January as well).

EDIT. Here are the 10 highest-rated episodes of the 2012–2013 U.S. television season:

(drama | sitcom)

1. CBS NCIS, S10E12 : 22.86 | CBS TBBT S06E13 : 20.00
2. CBS NCIS, S10E13 : 22.07 | CBS TBBT S06E12 : 19.25
3. CBS NCIS, S10E14 : 21.79 | CBS TBBT S06E15 : 18.98
4. CBS NCIS, S10E15 : 21.08 | CBS TBBT S06E16 : 17.89
5. CBS NCIS, S10E17 : 20.81 | CBS TBBT S06E14 : 17.76
6. CBS NCIS, S10E16 : 20.69 | CBS TBBT S06E08 : 17.63
7. CBS NCIS, S10E01 : 20.48 | CBS TBBT S06E18 : 17.63
8. CBS NCIS, S10E18 : 19.79 | CBS TBBT S06E17 : 17.62
9. CBS NCIS, S10E08 : 19.76 | CBS TBBT S06E09 : 17.25
10. CBS NCIS, S10E10 : 19.59 | CBS TBBT S06E20 : 17.24

That man only likes reality TV so his opinion counts for zero on anything.

There are separate threads for almost every subject that is mentioned on the Ratings Thread in any case.

I wasn't complaining I find all the arguing funny just pointing out US TV ratings make a nice change from the other stuff its always nice to get something different occasionally heh

To be fair, there's hardly any US ratings discussion most of the time. It's only because it's a big week for new and returning shows that there's been more than usual. If you aren't interested, skip the posts.

Too true but I'd have to skip pages as evidenced in the last 48 hours.

I think I'm gonna miss I love my country after tonight! To have started so low and to end pretty much where it started is quite some feat! In fact I commend the bbc for this and the puppets, which shown variety for a change, up until next June we have endless talent/celeb shows on primetime bbc 1 and itv. Lets wait till next summer to see bbc1s next new big hit!! Ha ha

Is that a major inconvenience then or are you rather making a mountain out of a molehill ?

There's been little of note to talk about UK wise, anyway. Same old same old.

Making an observation and stating my opinion that's all.

I dont think I Love My Country was anywhere near as bad as some portrayed but 2.9m or so average is not good enough even in high summer. It cant come back - can it?

Anything above 8million
5 a day

Radio 2 yesterday felt like one long advert for Strictly Come Dancing. So it should do well seeing as Radio 2 is the most popular station for large chunks of the day.
