It is definitely a very strong album. I hope you're right.

I am really hoping they get a third number 1 album in the US. Obviously I want them to get a second in the UK but I think having 3 number 1's in America would just be amazing. Am I being way too optimistic or is there a chance of this happening?

Yes, there is every chance. Look at how popular they are.

Yes, it's almost dead certain They're pre-orders must be between 150-200k. Lady Gaga barely managed 250k last week (exact numbers unknown yet), Eminem had a huge drop in his second week, Gaga is going to drop even more heavily. And I don't think there are any big releases this week in the US which could stay on top for more than 1 week.
People even talk about One Direction blocking Britney's new album from #1 when it's released a week after Midnight Memories. But that's certainly going to be difficult to achieve, as their album sales are extremely front-loaded, they are going to have a 70+% drop in their second week.

Not equally certain in the UK, as Gary Barlow seems to be quite popular at the moment. But in a normal world they should still beat him easily. I'm more interested in the sales and how much lower than 155k (TMH's first week) they are going to be, as the albums marked has really collapsed in the last few years...

Ok, thanks guys! I know they are massive but I didn't want to get too ahead of myself and get my hopes up.

Tbh I think they are bigger than Gary Barlow over here. His popularity seems to have gone down since he joined X Factor imo.

Agreed. His new single is bloody awful as well. I don't think the boys have to worry.

Yeah it's rubbish. Also lets be honest who are radio 1 more likely to play? A 1D track or a Gary Barlow one?

His new single is actually doing very good on itunes, and he's a likely contender for #1 this weekend. So don't write off Gary so soon.

However, i think the boys have a >90% chance at being #1 in the UK next week with the closest contender who will be Gary.

Jake Bugg & Robbie Williams are also likely to rival with their 2nd week sales (depending on if their 1st week sales surpasses >100k). However, i am almost positive the guys will be bagging their 2nd UK #1 album next weekend!!

Just listening to Ryan Seacrest's KIIS 102.7 Breakfast show in Los Angeles, and they are playing SOML. It's pretty great that they're playing it, because KIIS has more of an R&B/Pop slant than its sister station Z100 in New York.

Oh gosh. See you say that and I'll be eating my words now.

I'm just keeping everything crossed now!

I'd hate for Barlow to beat the boys, he annoys me too much without the rest of Take That.

Never in a million years is Jake Bugg going to be a contender next week! He has only sold about half of what Robbie did so far this week... And I don't think Robbie's second week is a danger for either Gary or One Direction.

I just wouldn't write Gary Barlow off. Of course he's not Radio 1 material, but he appeals to many people in the general public who will actually go out and buy his album in a shop! Isn't he like the perfect son-in-law? So ladies love him...

Well that's great news then!!...We'd only have Gary to worry about!!...Surprised at how well his single is doing considering Robbie's only got to #10 last week

can anyone please post a current working link to the leaked songs? i might want to have another listen whilst awaiting for my official copy...

I suppose Diana will start dropping in the I-tunes chart (if it hasn't already). With no airplay and no video, I don't really see it charting that high in the US, but it's a great way to have a clue about the album preorders on I-tunes!

Everyone seems to be struggling to sell albums (Katy Perrie who seems to be on top of the world sold 50 000 copies in her 1st week or something like that, Lady Gaga over 60 000 I think! Hopefully those numbers are accurate)...

Slightly worried, but I think they will do well enough.

they seem to have taken down many of the links. I found one and downloaded the whole thing, but its 100 megabyte, so that's too much to send to you
