But honestly, its one of the biggest shows in the UK, bigger than X Factor and isn't seen as a tacky reality show compared to the likes of CBB etc. It could do wonders for her profile and if she followed her stint on it with a brand new single etc, it might catch on if she wins fans.”

Well said! I think if Alexandra ever did sign up and get onto Strictly, I think she'd be one of the favourites. In her own words "I have rhythm" and she's still high-profile enough to have a strong fan base. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the people who voted for Alex to win XF also watch Strictly.

First of all its the europe that is voting for the songs not UK public. So she really could make it. With a good song and a killer performance.
But a show like Strictly Come Dancing would also be good. She just need to do something that will change everything :X”

Eurovision is career suicide in the UK, its laughed at and she would really need to secure a brilliant track, which for the UK seems to be impossible for some reason.

Strictly would be the far safer choice.

I would rather she just continued releasing music independently rather than be known as someone who went on Strictly or did Eurovision. There are hundreds of thousands of artists out there who release fantastic music independently and that's how they make their living. Not every good artist has to be commercial, in fact the majority of music in the charts is crap anyway. People need to get away from this obsession that she must release commercially if she wants success. How about actual decent music? I'd have much more respect for her if she concentrated on music rather than resorting to shows like Strictly.

Oh dear I really don't want her to go full commercial now! It's just... I want her to get a good label so she can get decent songs. Because Im affraid that going full independent will make her sing... Fine songs. You know nothing great or something. With a back up of a label she would get a better material. That's why I think that TV show could help her gain that. A label and a fanbase

I agree with this but the music Alex has released independently so far has been pretty lackluster. Renegade was an improvement on New Rules, but besides listening to Ain't That Right and Hall of Fame a couple of times it didn't leave a lasting impression on me. I've become more convinced since Renegade that she's somebody who needs some kind of label to guide her.

I think production is the issue as well. The EP was good, but it needed harder production. Label guidance got her nowhere at all. Labels simply have access to people who can produce good songs. The issue is, is that good music at this stage wouldn't keep anyone's interest. Her brand has been utterly ruined.

She hasn't been creative long enough for stuff to stand on its own artistically. That's the issue. When I said ages ago she should be writing songs, I said it to avoid this situation she's now in. She co-wrote Elephant, which had at least decent lyrical value. She's even said herself she held a lot back and herself back. I really wish she hadn't. If she'd been writing since she won the show, then she'd be able to pen something decent and have music with a theme.

Yes! That's all I wanted too. I love singers that can write their own songs. This is what I like about Leona Lewis for example. She writes a lot, even for this new album now. And the more you write the better your writing gets.
But it's never too late you know. She can always come up with some crazy great idea, get a back up from nice label and be good at it But she really needs a little push. So this dancing TV show also could be great ^^
She took her time out to work on herself as in for a life coach, so... She can take some lessons for a song writing as well, right? I think it could do wonders for her because with Elephant and the whole Renegade EP she showed that she really can write!

I would love to see Alex at Eurovision, she could score top 3 with almost all of the singles she has released

It's not that easy to be a songwriter. Celine Dion and Whitney were undeniably talented vocalists, but didn't write any of their lyrics and were very honest about it. Nowadays you get a lot of artists who claim to have written their songs, but needed at least one other person to write the lyrics.

I would hate for Alex to do Eurovision only because it's not taken seriously in the UK and the media would crucify her. I doubt she'd win regardless of the quality of the song and her performance.

Not sure if you aware Alex is playing 2 nights at the Jazz cafe towards the end of September. Think the dates were something like 24th and 25th Sept. Because I think she has a great voice I may go one night. Tickets cost like £23.50 each.

I think it is good she is playing the Jazz cafe. Credible venue.

Think she and Leon Jackson are the only X factor acts to play there.

Leon was on as support for Allen Stone.

I will try and go. Not a fan of some of her stuff but she has a great voice.

I want to go, but getting to London can be expensive. I'm thinking of seeing the BG again when it comes back to my town soon.

Alex will be having a guest performance on the Jazz Cafe and it's a girl called Tian Major9.
Do any of you know her?
ukaszenkooo

Having a bit of trouble finding out where the actual unreserved standing area is. Thinking of getting tickets, but don't want to have a crap view. Anyone here know where that might be by any chance?

There don't seem to be any seated places left at either date. It's a shame as I have a friend who wants to go, but they can't stand for extended periods due to a health condition. I'll be interested to hear the setlist. I assume she'll have to do some of the Syco / RCA stuff and a song or two from The Bodyguard.

Well yeah it sucks for your friends :X Well I don't know if its true (because its Alex lol) but a while ago she wrote on twitter that she will perform songs taken from album3 also. Sooo maybe we will hear something new too

It is all unreserved standing up downstairs so you can be inches from her if you get there from opening times 7pm.

Upstairs is sitting and waitress service but you have to book a table min of 2 for a set dinner which is added on to the ticket price. There is a bar too upstairs but it depends on the venue act if they some allow some standing for about max 10 people at the bar.

Sometimes they allow some people to stand near the eaters but it depends on act bouncers .... No set rule.

Upstairs is the dressing room next to the seating area where she has to walk past all the eaters to walk down the steps to the stage at the front.

If you think of the upstairs as a kind of horse shoe set up to view the stage.

One more question about the event. I've got tickets for standing area and I wonder at what time they will let us in? Do you have any idea?
You know Im coming a pretty long way for this concert. I want to have a good view and a nice place so I want to be there on right time

Thanks for getting back to me guys.

Whenever I go to concerts I always get standing and get there early so I can be at the right at the front.

I think I'm gonna get a ticket for Friday then as I can't go Saturday due to a friends Birthday.

So standing, if I leave early enough, I could be at right at the front, like against railings at the front lol (if there are any)?

I think I might get there like 2 hours before?

It's only for O2 Arena type concerts where I'd get there at like 8 in the morning (crazy I know, but I got to hold Beyoncé's hand twice so definitely worth it).

For something like this I'd say 2\3 hours maybe. This is just a complete guess though. And I hope they have an organised queue, allow getting there early just for people who got there last minute to push through etc.

Doors open at 7. She won't be on til 845 9pm I expect.
The amount of people standing in front of the stage would be about 12 people across. But then you can see her around the side.

People do queue up in a line to get in so you be ok.
