Alex really does look great in the Slim Fast campaign. I've never used their products but I like how they have been using naturally curvy ladies (Alex and Kimberly Walsh) as their most recent spokeswomen. I assume that in Sister Act Alex is playing the main role made famous by Whoopi Goldberg.
I don't think Alex is really capable of a project like Lemonade even on a much smaller budget/scale. Regardless of how much actual creative input Beyonce has in her material, she's very good at picking the right producers and writers. Based on New Rules and Renegade, Alex still needs to acquire that skill. Re producers, if she was still commercial she definitely would find it easier. Beyonce used to be surrounded by the best in the business, so the producer progression makes sense. You also learn a lot from observing people from a young age (which in a benefit someone like MJ had). Sure it's a skill, but if you've had a certain musical style overarching your work, it's a lot easier. I feel that Alex, like Leona to an extent, had a lot of label control over their music which causes issues when trying to forge your own identity. Those who had their own identities planned out and stuck to post XF have done much better in that regard. Tbh I don't even know what New Rules was...considering she was supposed to have US bigwigs helping her, it ended up being random and dire. Renegade was a lot better. It needed a little jazzing up and spice, but it could easily have gone off musically, because the thought process was there. |

Renegade was amazing. Maybe it wasn't her best music work to date. But it was her first creative work. I mean... Don't get me wrong. Overcome was just a (amazing) mix of music styles... HOH was (still good) but kinda mess... New Rules. I don't even know what to say about it right now.
But with Renegade you can see Alex being like... "Hey this is me. I am Alexandra. Now you can hear my voice, oh and you can also have a little bit of my history in my music. Take a seat. Listen" I loved it. That was the first time when she actually was trying to make her look like... Well herself. And again Im not talking only about the sound. She wrote the damn songs. Not all of them, and not alone but still she did it. It's really important if a singer can write his own music. Because that (mostly) means that the person isn't only a singer. She/he is an artist. Being able to create something of their own. |

Yeah I'm glad she's still doing her thing and making money.

At this point I'm just waiting for her tell-all biography which I hope will clear up many mysteries that surrounded her departure from Syco and the following years. Especially whatever happened during the time she was with KWL. But she's happy with a relatively sustainable income now, good on her.

This just leaked, High Off Love.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3wBtuimqVI Do you think this might have been originally recorded back for her second album at Syco? |

Yeah its really good, not single material but a great track. It's R&B influence probably means it was either for the original second album or perhaps the album she was recording with KWL.

It does sound pretty decent! And I get a feeling that it's a song from her KWL album. Im not sure why but It kinda suits the Shine and No More You style she was exploring.
As for the shine. I still need a full version as I liked the snippet so much! I hope she will leak it one day if she wont use it! |

Omg y'all still here
![]() Hi! I just read her interview with the daily star, in which she said that after Sister Act, she's going back to music. A shame she also said this after TBG .... I didnt know she had a boothang tho, I never seen a picture of him! I laughed when she said the man that tried to hit her up in the gym didnt even know who she was. Its sad ![]() Edit: Mess I just realised, she isnt even certified on Instagram. The irrelevancy is resl |

Actually she said a while ago, that after TBG she is doing one more show and then it's back to music. So she's keeping her word, kinda.
And I think she has learned her lesson. She isn't saying much now - because she knows it can end like always.... "Ive got a single coming up. OH wait I dont" She is simply enjoying her life, her job - it's really good. And if she needs to take the time to make this album, then be it. It needs to be really strong, like seriously. |

She probably didn't know she'd be doing Sister Act back then, and I think if she's getting another role offered after SA then she'll pick that over new music again, I think.

I don't blame Alex for going back on what she said about returning to music and doing the Sister Act instead. Any return to music would probably be at least partially self-funded, whereas Sister Act means she's doing something she enjoys and getting paid. I've accepted we will probably never get to hear a proper studio album again. At best, it will be a covers album or "songs from the musicals" type release.

Alex was on the BBC show Saturday Kitchen Live. I recorded it as the show was really long and I wasn't interested in the cooking parts. I'll try and watch it later and report if she said anything interesting, unless anybody else happened to watch it.

I just watched the show. There was only a small part where Alex was interviewed so here is a summary:
- She talked about how much she's enjoyed doing the Bodyguard and is rehearsing for Sister Act at the moment. - She's been recording her third album since 2014 and the original plan was to release it after the Bodyguard finished, but then she was offered Sister Act. - The current plan is to release the album once Sister Act ends. This will probably be late 2017. - She seemed genuinely excited about doing Sister Act and said her favourite songs are Fabolous Baby and Sister Act. |

A couple of great reviews for Alex in Sister Act from Stage and the Telegraph. I really think she has found her niche in musical theatre and should stick with it rather than try to ressurect her music.

Just popping in to say that i saw Sister Act last saturday and i thought Alex was great. I also saw her in The Bodyguard and i must say her performance in Sister Act really was a big improvement imo. You'd have thought that this would have been a lesser fit for her than BG and to be honest i was very sceptical about the casting choice when i heard and yet i really thought in the end it seemed to suit her far better and she gave a much more well rounded performance and really did well. I thought she did a far better job in this on the acting front especially. I mean her voice/dancing was great in both, as you;d expect, but i think her acting performance in this is what set her apart in this compared to BG. Listen, she;snot going to win awards for her acting, it's not her strength, but i didn't really see any problem with it.
