Overdose is amazing. Ciara is the biggest fool. It has summer hit screaming out!!!!!

I'm so done with Ciara she's so thick she needs to get a grip tbh - that's why she's still flopping. Hopefully Alex will never have to go through the flopping phase again

It wasn't "old". Brandy left Epic halfway through recording her album for reasons I can't remember.

Her album was almost complete and got shelved, and the material was given to Alex through Epic and her connection to Roc Nation/Stargate who produced the tracks.

I agree she sang them better.

I always get that impression from Ciara. I remember seeing an interview with her from when Body Party was first released, the interviewer asked her what she thought her album would selling by early 2014 and she said something like "About 3 million and by then I'll doing a huge world tour"...like seriously? She needs to realise the position she is in.
I think her biggest issue is that her vocals are so weak thats she appears very basic. She's no Alex imo.

I'm not that surprised she's flopping, I think the music was part of the problem. Some of the singles weren't that great/memorable. Plus the Rihanna feud finished her off.

In the US, albums work much better when they follow a hit single. Alex needs to promote the first single like hell, and it needs to be a success in some way, either charting high on Billboard or becoming a radio hit, but she needs that first single to be relatively big to sell the album.

Body Party was big but for some reason it just didn't translate to album sales. But then again her promotion is crap don't even get me started she has no idea. Plus the fact that I'm Out wasn't that great. Alex better promote like mad and in lots of different places she needs to appeal to a range of different markets so sales are higher etc etc

What it is is Ciara is LAZY at promo. She could have really had the longevity with this project if she promoted from MONTHS in advance (see Alicia keys girl on fire era) she sits around waiting come on!!! La had all the funds in your corner enough for you to SCRAP "got me good" and restart the whole era.

I think the key with Alex is getting both the 16-25 demo and the AC market interested. Ciara doesn't really appeal to the AC market, which is why she had a couple of successful singles but a flop album. The same for Kelly Rowland, she doesn't really appeal to the AC market, she tries to sell sex too much.

People like Ariana, Tamar etc appeal to both AC and Pop which is why they have both been successful and sold both singles and albums. Plus it helps that they both had sizeable hits.

I just hope Epic play this launch right for Alex. I don't like they way they handled Bonnie McKee and now she has flopped. I don't think they've done a good job with 5H, Cher Lloyd and Karmin either.

I just think she's really basic tbh. Yes she can dance but her voice is non existent and her material is forgettable. Granted I'm usually only here for "big" vocalists but I just don't think she has that special unique thing that makes people interested. Alex does however, that voice!

Ciara is too busy walking around West Hollywood. Every time I see pictures of her, it's always outside a clothes store or getting out of her truck. Maybe she thinks the music will sell itself.

Alex needs to be promoted correctly. Like the breakfast club interviews 106 Ect must come towards the middle half of the first single promo it has to be strategically done when she's gaining momentum and has a little bit of buzz behind her all the major televised and big radio must come later (minus the first radio play date) she needs a big radio tour like Cher initially had but with more of a mixture of urban and mainstream stations.

She's actually back in the studio apparently with mike will. Mess. She actually had a nice image this era as well it was nice and polished

I want Alex to really push for big album sales. Tamar was great but the album seems to have stalled the same goes for Ariana. Alex just needs to work harder than she ever has before no holidays no new dogs or anything

It's all coming together though. Label revealed. Just the single title to go and we're all set.

I'm scared for this era. Really am. Alex still has a free slot until beyonce she needs to rush this out and start promoting

I think Beyoncé's comeback will be weaker than people are expecting. She keeps filming these music videos everywhere but nothing is coming out. I don't think her team are convinced they've found a hit song for her yet. She tried to launch with Grown Woman but then those random songs, then her team suddenly cut it all off.

America is always going to be hard for Alex, it's a brand new market for her, she has never released a thing there. People know her though and I'd like it if she got some recognition from them when she gets out there to get her more fans.

I think if Alex got even one hit song out there, she'd get a lot of calls for collaborations.

Theres room for both of them though. Alex is a new artist over there so they should really be pushing her as a new all round power vocalist and performer. Honestly I've always said that if Alex has a great first single and album then she's pretty much done it since we all know she will definitely work hard promo wise.

I think the famous people who do know her will hype her up if the singles hot like Perez, the skorpian show Ect she has a small small fan base out there who were at one point bursting for her arrival
