I still believe if Alex came back with the right songs there is a market here for her in the UK, they just need to resolve the issue with radio support.

I think it has been proven time and time again X Factor aren't forgetting about her and she still has there support, I think she would be able to get a performance slot when she eventually comes back with material.

I do too. Looking at Beyonce's new tour, if Alex had one half as good as that she'd get a lot of respect. It's a material issue. Also radio too.

Me too but that's IF they resolve the issue with radio support, like you said.

If Capital had hammered Elephant like they did with SWY she'd have a #1 but that's all in the past now. I'm sure there are brighter things to look forwards to with Alex....

She seriously needs to sort her material out though, like c'mon! She has to show growth and takes too long. I love her but it's true. I can't recommend her to people only on the basis of Overcome like...

They always ask about the music and I just do not know what to say, and that is shameful on her part.

Its nice to see a lot of positive tweets about Alex right now, most of them wanting her to make a comeback ! I wish they would've played the album version of The Silence though, her vocals are clearer than they are on the single version.

I'm not so sure about this issue with her material...in fairness, HOH suffered more from PR/marketing/image/styling/choreography issues than anything else. The singles Elephant and LiG were at least as good as what was out there, perhaps Alex just suffered too high expectations after what was an expensive first album. I'm still hopeful for her third album anyway, I just want her to come out with that Amerie 'one thing' style banger that will make people sit up again!

That is true with HOH. The two singles were good, but I mean serious evolution musically for someone as talented as her. She has to be a cut above, and she has yet to musically bring that.

Yeah, she does. And as awkward as it is to mention it, she particularly needs to be a cut above as a black female artist because ultimately, decision makers at labels are business people and a dark skinned sistah isn't just as marketable. There was an article in Billboard (and the guardian I think) last week that was talking about radio/label politics with black artists in the US and how white artists like Timberlake, Thicke, Macklemore, Iggy )and so on) for example, are providing a less risky alternative for labels (which also include black heads btw so its not a race thing per se, its more about money) and so ultimately, black artists face a harder struggle now...make of that what you will...

That's what I meant. She needed to play the game and the whole 'overconfident' thing didn't help, it was DUMB. There's a reason Beyonce acts like a slightly happier and talkative version of post-breakdown Britney. Rihanna on tv is the same.

Alex forgot she was an anomaly, and is paying the price for it now, sadly. She has one more chance but if her music, marketing, image, social media and promo aren't on point, it's curtain call.

Double crossed!

I just hope she gets it right. When she does in all senses, she's incredible. When she doesn't...it's either not great or horrific.

I've just noticed this and I might be quite late on this, but the guy who runs "Global" (Heart FM, Capital, Choice etc) He follows Alex on Twitter.. So that's kinda weird since they don't really play her much, like I said I could be quite late on this, but do you think this is a good sign?

hmmm that's interesting...I wonder how long he has followed her for or if he used to follow her during Overcome and just never unfollowed her...

On another note, if you had a say on the type of album Alex should come out with based on an existing album, what would you go with? I think I'd love her to come out with a cross between Kelly R.'s Talk a good game/Here I am and Janelle Monae's Electric Lady (maybe she can't pull that one off)...

Hmmm agree with all except 8 (strongly disagree there, thought that song is the weakest on the album)...I'd love alex to do some of the intro songs on both Kelly albums, particularly 'freak' on talk a good game. It would work with strong choreography...

Yeah, that is probably the case.

She could do Electric Lady, she's got the chops for it

It's these little things that will help remind people of Alex.

I have a feeling she will get a performance on the live shows because it's the tenth anniversary.
