I have this idea that UK panto season is different to the Irish one - like, it might start earlier, being more pre-Christmas. Maybe that would give them the time to do Dancing on Ice!

Also, Dancing on Ice is apparently on it's last season, following Torvill and Dean's decision to quit. Strictly Come Dancing is still going strong though.

Panto is great! The twins are on fab form and seem to be loving it! I even got a picture with John in the famous lane I'm back again on the 5th for the last show.

John and Edward will be appearing on the zig and zag Christmas bloopers show on rte at 7.30 today! I think you can watch abroad on the rte player.

As a New Year's wish, I hope that this thread would revert to actually discussing things instead of just posting happy clips of the twins.

There has been an argument in the past that 'the press' reads this thread; therefore, we should not post anything controversial. This attitude has completely killed the thread.

Tbh... I feel like we have been reduced to cats dragging small pieces of information to the back door.

Let's talk...

1) so, like, totally, how do you really feel about the Oz tour?

2) Panto next year?

3) Did the twins really call the dudes who jumped on their car 'chavs'?

4) How's their fourth album coming? Do they have a new label?

5) Isn't it weird that Liam didn't tweet anything re the twins when they appeared on xfactor?

6) Do you think their xfactor novelty act appearance was a good thing or a bad thing?

7) How do you feel about potential reality show bookings?

8) and, last, but certainly not least, do you think their current management has things under control... or do they need to hire professional help?

BIB - I'm half convinced the recent story in the Herald about the boys car being targeted in the Lane was influenced by twitter so it seems if the press are determined enough they can find stories anywhere. The word chav was definitely used on twitter talking about events that night.

Funny thing was though there ended up being two versions of the same incident - one being a lot more innocent than the other. People see different things and report them differently and real events get lost somewhere in the middle.

I'm not sure the Jeds called anyone chavs and btw how would anyone really know - unless they shouted it out the window, which wasn't widely reported on twitter? John and Edward do know what chavs are though as they talked about them on Graham Norton once.

I think it was a good experience for them, although it is difficult to gauge how successful and large the audiences were. I was impressed by their professionalism and I particularly thought the sound quality of their performances seemed a lot better.


The lady in the box office seemed to think that the boys would take a rest next year. I've no idea whether that was based in fact or just her own speculation. She did say though that the shows were sold out after Christmas and those leading up to Christmas were practically sold out,with sales improving following a slow start compared to other years.

Perhaps panto limits other opportunities that may get offered to them?

I love them in panto, although sometimes they need to restraint themselves from going to over the top, and wouldn't mind if they wanted to try on in the UK - as long as it was a decent production. Trouble is, I'm not convinced that the UK would see them as the headline act and would they want to play second fiddle?


The quote in the Irish Times interview suggests they don't '.... written and recorded but 'shopping' around for a label to release it'. Mind you, that article also got Momma's surname wrong so it's not exactly accurate.

I really hope they get opportunity to release new music and I'd rather they did't have to self release,unless as a last resort, at the moment just because a label would help with PR and promotion - and I think that's an area the boys do proper help with.


On the surface I guess so but at least he didn't tweet anything sarky or negative. It's a shame if that relationship has become sour although I did sometimes get the feeling that John and Edward weren't treated with respect, considering they were the 'act' and helping pay wages etc.


I'm undecided although it was much better than I feared and they stole the show. If nothing else, it created some headlines for them - particularly the Jedthrust.


Anything that involves multi voting and popularity I dislike - but without CBB I wouldn't be here and it gives them chance to change peoples minds. Their personalities, sense of fun and good natures is their greatest asset. So I'm in two minds about reality show bookings.


I think they could benefit from professional PR/marketing and, this may sound daft, but possibly more admin. assistance - someone to filter/answer emails particularly so genuine business inquiries get some sort of response.

1 very big wish for 2014 is that there will still be a Jedward career and that they have more to do than this year, I hope it will not end all after this Panto(nothing is anounced for 2014 and who knows how long we have to wait for news).

For me they need profesional help (no matter how independent they want to be)

I love their songs&their music but music market is difficult to survive there for years, so I hope they will get the chance to make more TV shows and if only for that that people still remember them because they see them on TV. For me it would be great when they would have a music career but also a TV career.

I don´t understand why they have recorded over 14 songs and don´t realse this as album on i-Tunes and after that their album with own written songs.

Australia tour? They wanted to have a worldwide tournee maybe they feel now that way(Ireland+UK+Australia)

Trying to gauge the reaction of Australian non-fans from twitter, it seemed like people in the media loved them and people who went to the concerts enjoyed themselves. However the reactions of the people who saw them on TV were more mixed, especially the football show viewers (although that was predictable).

I would have been fuming if they hadn't been invited to take part in the 10 year anniversary thing. The reaction on twitter was mainly very positive - at least nobody could say they were singing out of tune. I don't think it did them any harm.


It depends on the reality show. There are basically two types in the UK, the ones like CBB or the jungle where celebs just mess about being themselves, or the ones like Strictly Come Dancing or Splash where they learn a skill.
I think they should do Strictly if asked - it's on primetime Saturday evening TV on BBC1 (and goes head to head against the X Factor) and is hugely popular.


Yes I think they should hire professional help from someone with knowledge of the music industry if they feel they can afford it, but who knows what they have in the pipeline already.
