I hope so, too... does anyone know whether J&E have a local promoter lined up for the big push right before the tour?

I have no idea, but I think they have some kind of contact in Australia. The promo tour was really complete and they made interviews with newspapers, etc they had never talked to.
Btw... I hope everyone going to the UK tour has an absolute blast! I'm so happy for all of you! |

Don't worry Scherera- they haven't "grown up" as such, just decided to adapt their image to suit the goals. Remember they were quite mature during the Xfactor, yet in the years that followed, became hyper and overactive. So the way I see it, they've simply reverted back to their original image!

Do you think Louis recommended this approach... or J&E fell into it themselves? |

Yeah I think it was a Louis thing, to make them stand out or something. Like to continue the image he gave to them in the XF

I'm glad that E is no longer skittering around at the back of the stage.
That said, based on the vids I've seen so far, the whole thing strikes me as bad art. I've never felt this way about their other performances...so I find myself wondering if J&E are trying too hard to dispel the 'they can't sing' myth. Sorry. |

Hope everyone going to UK tour are having a fab time!
Joy949 put out the interview they did when in oz here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0re539Z_8W0 it's 15 mins long so it's a nice and informative interview When asked about new music, around 12:40 according to Edward "probably the new year, or late this year early new year" So what to you guys think, is this reliable? I know plan can always be changed, but they need new music in panto, isn't it? love the way Edward explained 125 to the hosts hehe vids from the tour are really amazing, found one where John b-boxing, didn't know he's this good. ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5EkHQS5LvY |

I guess the twins are doing covers of contemporary songs to please their fans... I'm not sure this is a good strategy as they have enough of their own music to fill a 2 hr. show.
I find covers quite sad. Especially when they simply mimic the original offer. Of course, when one re-works an original track... it can be quite interesting and rejuvenate interest in the original... like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-2Of9aznxg to this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uifuzx9TDVY most, currently, don't realize that CCR did the original track. Actually, most don't know the song was called 'Rolling on the River' and know it as 'Proud Mary'. Which proves the point that it's not the song, it's the presentation/rejuvenation.. Mimicking the original never got anyone anywhere... |

This is also a cover... I'm not really sure how I feel about this... it's derivative... but also a clash of the titans and a reintroduction of the song.
from this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=318hPubWRJg to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fregObNcHC8 covers are tricky... |

I think for the local, non fan, audience that don't really know their songs the covers help get them involved in the concert.
But the covers this time all seem to have a theme of "yes We CAN sing, see" |

But the covers this time all seem to have a theme of "yes We CAN sing, see" They provide familiar songs for non fans to join in with. That strategy seems to be working as I spotted a couple of atypical Jedward fans - older men - actually singing and swaying along!

I just can't remember where

they have not sung live their own songs? Not even like they did before (that they sung live over a backing track )?

I realize that, due to the high amount of dancing, it's difficult to sing live and make it sound perfect... but somehow, for me, that was always the fun of live concerts. I never expected a studio, pitch-perfect live performance. I'm just not sure where I come down on the covers... perhaps a better balance of just 1 or max 2 per concert? Dunno. |

I agree that the fact of adding covers is more for people who go to the concert with fans. I read a girl on twitter who had gone with her best friend who was a fan, she was delighted with the Little Things cover. She probably liked the fact that she could sing along to one of the tracks even not being a fan. Of course they could put a 2 hours show with just their songs, but it's nice they mix it with other songs because it gives them the possibility of changing songs between concerts, so the concerts are never the same. About John's beatboxing, he's quite good at it, I'm impressed, he even does that thing where he beatboxes but adds a second sound to the mix with his nose (lol I don't know how to describe it better) Quote:

I know plan can always be changed, but they need new music in panto, isn't it? Maybe they could find time to go into the studio and record new tracks before panto, but I don't think those tracks would be ready by the time panto comes, so I guess they'll sing old songs at panto. Maybe some they've not used at previous pantos. |
