Yes, I agree that their mom is out of her depth in terms of managing. But my question is what brought things to this point? Has this role been forced upon her due to LW's laziness/malfeasance?

If you think about it, LW has positioned himself quite nicely... he can blame everything on their mom... which I view as a complete cop-out and misogynist to the ninth degree.

Let's face it... LW is a complete ****-up, and he wouldn't know a gold mine if it blew up in his face and showered him with dust.

I applaud the twins leaving Ireland to record elsewhere... LW owns the gossip scene in Ireland... they need to get out from under his boot.”

I would still say Louis did Jedward far more good than bad, pithy. Their most successful period (early 2010 to mid 2012) coincided with his management of them. Their career seems to have gone into freefall since Susannah took over, which tells it's own story.

As for money, don't forget Jedward themselves did extremely well financially during that two and a half year period.

ok. I agree. whatever. but I cannot blame their mom for this current state of affairs. I can, meanwhile, blame her for her response to JedGen... so juvenile.

Perhaps there has been a complete misunderstanding...

What we don't know is whether their career would have still stalled under Louis's tutelage in the way it has. I'm not convinced though Susannah is at all a good choice of manager for the twins.....she is in no way qualified to do the job.

Perhaps their 'star' was levelling off or even slowing down so Louis no longer had much to contribute and no other manager was interested, so Momma stepped in?

I'm not saying any of that is true just speculating as to how MJ got involved with no experience.

Yes, it's all speculation, isn't it? Even talk of the twins' career stalling is perhaps a bit unfair as the pop music business is cut throat these days and numerous successful acts are quickly fading away......many of the X Factor winners are floundering and look like they're finished, so it's no reflection on the boys at all.

It's anyone's guess what happened in 2012 and how or why Susannah came to be managing the twins and why Liam stepped aside etc. Clearly though, she's not really qualified to be managing a pop act, she had no prior experience of showbiz or the music industry whatsoever.

J&E's career had already stalled. Don't you dare blame their mom. It gives such an easy out to Lazy Louis. Don't let him get away with this, please.

It's hard to say, pithy. From memory, Susannah took over management of the twins sometime around April-May 2012. We just don't know what was happening behind the scenes and whether their career would have followed the same path had Louis remained their manager until now.

under L.W. managament they would probably still have a TV career(people would not forget about them when they would see them on TV screen) ; Deal or not Deal/The million pound drop / x-factor behind the scenes... this all was (if I remember it right) after ESC 2012 , and this were all shows where they were not treated like a joke.

They would probably still give more cocerts under contract with SaveeEntertainment and sometimes eventually sing on big events like it was 2012 " Westlife farewell tour"

This are of course speculations , but everybody is allowed to speculate.

Sometimes is it better to do what you really can and for what you are talented and not to focus only on things which you love.

For me they were/are entertainers

Yes schehera, I can't see how Susannah could possibly be seen as a better option as manager than Louis. He's an influential person and has thousands of contacts in music and showbiz whereas Susannah has none.

It's very noticeable that Jedward have virtuallly vanished off British and Irish TV apart from the Big Adventure show and I'd be interested to hear why they lost their Dream Factory series on RTE and replaced by the far less well known Una Healy.

No one, and I do mean no one, is saying that their mom is up to this task. But the question is, for me, how all of this has come to be.

It's well-documented that Mr. Walsh overworks and ignores his acts. Evidently, he tells his acts that, if they work hard, then they will do well... which is fine. The problem is that his acts DO work hard, but they never seem to do well... in other words, Mr. Walsh dangles a carrot that doesn't exist, as he simply does not have the clout to get them anywhere outside of Ireland.

I refuse to rewrite history blaming their mom. Yes, she took over after LW had checked out. But she was not responsible for the shitty promotion of Luminous and Young Love... or should we paint with a mighty broad brush and blame this on her, too?

oh, wait... let's go ahead and blame her for the Bad Behaviour, Victory sales, too. You remember... when fans were asking for the cd's in the shops and were told that they hadn't been delivered or that they had been returned?... that was so groovy.

BTW, as life on Planet Jedward is pretty quiet at the moment, I'll be taking a break from this forum. It doesn't seem as much fun when there isn't any fresh Jed news to talk about, y'know? But once things get back in action, I figure the forum will naturally pick up again. New album? Yes, please!

Didn't Young Love and Luminous take place under her stewardship though?

What we don't really know is whether the twins' career was already heading into freefall when Louis was still in charge.

Eurovision 2012 was a bit of a mess for them when it should have been a success. I'd love to know how they ended up with a song that was several years old and had been rejected by Swedish MF twice. If all this was down to Louis, then he made a few serious mistakes there.

Maybe their mom stepped in and personally over-ruled everyone involved by picking Waterline. I heard she was in charge of the stupid fountain, too.

Does mentor Linda Martin really seem like someone who would be over-ruled or usurped?

I've always felt Waterline was a joint Linda-Louis decision. I didn't mind the song at all when it was chosen and went to Eurovision, but when I heard Young Love later that summer and realised it was more dated than virtually any track on the album, I was a bit gutted at the missed opportunities.

ok... I don't want to look back anymore. I want to look forward.

J&E's extended radio silence, for me, is quite interesting. Of course one could say that they are 'hiding' ... but I somehow don't think so.

Their separation from their fans needed to happen at some point... so we have reached that point.

Will they ever be international pop stars? Who knows? But at least they seem to be trying to make it happen. Kudos.

c'mon guys... post... I'm serious when I say that if this thread dies, then all is truly lost.

Just post shit... it doesn't matter. Just post something. Don't wait for news to come to you... you can talk about anything.

Just don't let this thread die.

Just because we're not seeing it doesn't mean they aren't working hard at something ....possibly .... hopefully - like producing a new album.

The Late Late Show apparently got interesting yesterday during Ireland's Eurosong contest . Linda Martin and Billy McGuiness (Aslan) got into an argument about Louis' role on the panel. I kind of got Billy's point and Linda did herself no favours reverting to name calling in defence of Louis. Although her loyalty was admirable.

Only if they hire Moldova's 2011-12 creative team...
