they did really, really well. This was a fantastic opportunity for them... and they were able to get in quite a bit of information re career, tours, etc.

It was a more mature interview than usual.....overall I'd say the performance and interview might alter a few people's opinions of them.

I thought it was a really great performance and I loved in the interview - even if they did talk over each occasionally lol

The song is now up on YT hopefully the interview will follow:

A fan tweeted this...

Coming out of RTE, so many people in the audience were saying how great @planetjedward sounded and how far they've come!!!

It's going to be a long road... but I think the twins are on their way. I'm happy for them. It's not easy to change preconceptions... but J&E seem quite willing to take on that challenge. That's what I've always liked about them... their determination is astonishing.

They've come a helluva long way. They were portrayed by Cowell as a talentless and tone deaf novelty act so to give a live unplugged acoustic performance of a ballad is major progress for them.

The whole show is now online including the twins' performance and their interview

http://www.rte.ie/player/gb/show/10205437/

So they are both writing songs, and the songs written are getting better and a new album is expected next year : )

That was a really really good performance of Delilah, its lovely that more people will get to hear what beautiful voices they have

Let's just hope they don't lose that iPhone with the songs on before they back it up!

Here's the interview+performance on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bBqmPl1Iqo

I just saw it all and I loved it. The performance was really good, you can tell they were a bit nervous but they sounded lovely. I kinda felt like Edward had a bit of a husky voice, heard he caught a cold at the end of UK tour. But they were really professional and good.

The interview was charming, I literally died laughing when the host asked them about the kind of songs they're writting and what they're about and Edward goes "I know that when we talk we don't use the most elaborate words, but when we sit down to write songs..." Bless him
They got to mention a lot of stuff in there: UK Tour, Australian Tour, JBA, Panto, New Songs, New Album... and I loved the host's last sentence "yeah they said you wouldn't last, they said I wouldn't last, and we're both still here guys"

I'll send this clip to the twins via twitter, but I doubt they will see it.

It's such a great example of how the lyrics don't need to be completely filled out with actual words. You can use sounds and, yes, simple (in this case, suggestive) vibrato hums.

Guitar riffs will always rule... a manoeuvre that allowed the singer to rest but allowed the music to roam on... a great mark of the 70's... which is sadly missed today.

Obviously the only reason J&E were invited on the show was to promote Panto... BUT the nice thing is that they were savvy enough to demand the terms of their appearance... kudos... well-done. They've learned.

Yeah, I could still detect a hint of cold in Edward's voice but they did a good job John even managed to miss out his "I've just messed up" face pulling and eye rolling he did most of the UK tour <3

@pithy, did you see the video of John's beat boxing on tour? Amazingly strange sounds!

Yeah... I do hope they use the music to tell the story and not just the lyrics... that's really the only problem I have w/ the pop genre... the music itself has no personality.

Is anyone else concerned that the fan who physically attacked another fan at one of the recent UK gigs continues to promote the twins with radio spam, blogs, and general promo?

I would have thought she would have taken a bit of a break after the rather high-profile incident.

Of course it's her own decision, and no one has the right to tell her what to do... but I find myself wondering if the twins are comfortable with someone promoting them who has blatantly contradicted the cornerstone of their public image: Bullying.

I realize that she is a very engaged fan and has, over the past two years, done so much to promote J&E in the UK and Australia... and I think we can all acknowledge her valuable role in convincing the twins that there is a huge market for them in Australia.

Yet still, I'm concerned that she is blithely continuing tweeting, blogging, etc. on behalf of J&E... IMO, there's something just not quite right about it.

The twins cannot do anything about that, she's not stalking them and she's no employee so they cannot fire her.

Gosh, call me silly... but J&E have blocked so many fans for much more minor transgressions.

I am assuming, at this point, that they don't really care about violence and bullying. Please correct me if I'm wrong in this assumption.

No, they do care, they always care.

I don't know what the twins opinion on it, but I'm sure they want us to be a loving and caring family. I personally think the best thing we can do is to forgive, and see things on both side. Everything happens for reasons, and everyone is imperfect.

What she did is a mistake, it is wrong, but it's not bully. She's already apologized, and knows it is a bad thing, I think she's learnt from this. However if we continue to judge her for it, and even say she should stop being a supportive fan, this is bullying.

as for the block incident, don't know much about it. maybe it has sth to do with mj? donno..
various opinions are always good, but I'd say no to nasty and too negative ones, if people still call themselves fans.

Sorry, you can disagree with me, but this my opinion.

So... the impression I get from this post is:

1) Hey, maybe the kid deserved to be punched.

2) Bullies shouldn't be judged for their bullying (even in cases of physical attacks) because then we are bullies for calling out the bully.

3) So super fans can do anything they want and, if anyone questions their behaviour, then they themselves are not genuine fans.

I honestly think this is something we shouldn't discuss in the appreciation thread as for Digital Spy guidelines. Move it to twitter, private messages, etc, but keep the thread in topic, please.

If you ask me, suggesting that the twins support violence and bullying is disgusting, given the things they've lived (and still live). I won't comment further on this matter in this thread, sorry.

I'm sorry, I made a mistake, I should never replied, and I apologize for my bad English, all these is not what I meant. It's better if everyone can just ignore these posts of mine. But I still need to say sth, I will keep it short.

I never said someone deserve be punched. It's horrible. But I think when an incident happened both sides are injured parties.
And still I don't think it was bullying.
I thought this is an appreciation thread so more positive stuff is better.

Of course you didn't mean any of those things, your English is perfectly fine.

I think Flyingcamel is correct that this appreciation thread is the not the appropriate place to discuss this as it may violate DS terms and conditions.

You're English is fine and of course you didn't mean those things,

I only have one thing to say on the matter, I wasn't there, I didn't see what happened. It's between the people concerned only, nothing to do with me and certainly nothing to do with J & E.

What I actually came here for was to post a couple of things.

There have been several stories springing up about the amazing Jedward fashion collection designed by a Jedward fan and recently shown on the catwalk. There are some details here.

http://www.kingston.ac.uk/news/artic...edward8Oct1130

Also, I have been lucky enough to get my small Jedward blog featured on a local news site. The Daily Rochdale.

http://dailyrochdale.co.uk/Music_Releases.php

I would very much appreciate some views or even comments if possible, thank you

That's great! I saw Eppie wearing them on tour, they looked great! It's good to see her designs getting so much media attention.
