Looks like the twins might be doing some modelling for for John Paul Gaultier at the Life Ball in Vienna on May 16th!

It says "The night before the fashion show, John and Edward will perform at a special concert in the Austrian capital to generate donations and public awareness of HIV and AIDS".
If it's this one, It's quite hard to imagine how they'll fit in to the line-up! http://www.lifeball.org/red-ribbon-c...ncert/?lang=en |

I'm trying to decide where to come down on the whole 'no twitter' thingy. On the one hand, I kinda get that something freaky might have happened & they were scared away or that they simply got bored w/ it... but why would J&E no longer post legit things (I don't count selfies & inane quotes as legit) yet continue to use twitter to dm followers if they no longer believed the platform offered what it once did in terms of exposure?
I'm not rolling out the whole 'it's not fair' complaint thrown at the twins whenever they use to reply to fans... it's more that I'm trying to figure out why they are only using twitter to, in effect, provide a rather vaporous cover. Why not crow? Shout it from the roof-tops. Or, more importantly... Have Some ****ing Fun. Jeez! |

A few snippets of info from the youtube reply session John and Edward did earlier:
They are definitely going to be on the catwalk in Vienna next Saturday. The next video will be Leave a Mark! "but something super exciting is also coming right after so it could be a double whammy!" Someone referred to them as the boys and they replied "the boys we have names haha John and Edward!" (Oops, I'm always calling them that )

Kirsty G has kindly posted scans of the article about Jedward in today's Irish Sun:
https://twitter.com/Kirluvjed/status/599885211665637376 They highlight (for me anyway) is that they're planning a series of live dates in Ireland and the UK during late summer

"Of all the Irish acts, Jedward have probably earned one of the most fervent fan bases and continue their quest for world domination. "

oh my... Ireland didn't make it again into the ESC final... I can't wait for Johnny Logan to pontificate once again about how Jedward were a disgrace to their country.
At least they made it to the Final. And 11th place is nothing to scoff at considering they were competing against what, like 40 countries? |

not that I think J&E should do Eurovision again, I don't... that horse has left the barn.
but I do think that J&E should take up for themselves a bit more when Linda & Johnny start spouting off. It's not a fair comparison... and someone needs to finally say it. |

I mean, how would they go back to Eurovision? As Ireland's saviours? There's no way they could live up to the expectations. Think of the backlash if they didn't win.
It's much better if J&E just simply say that Eurovision has moved on, and they have, too. I would much rather they focus on their own future than try to reclaim a crown which probably can't be reclaimed. In the Logan/Martin past, Ireland won because there wasn't much competition and because they were allowed to sing in English while the other countries had to sing in their own languages. imo, J&E should just weiter gehen. |

ok... Eurovision back in Sweden next year... cool for J&E... but from what little I've ascertained from watching for the past 4yrs, it seems like the odd years are the weak years and the even years are strong.
So, I don't know, enter next year or the following year? |

If the twins do try to represent Ireland next year... I wonder if it wouldn't be fun if they let their fans pick their entry. I don't think any other act has tried this before.
For example, why not have another 'intimate concert' in August in Dublin. Pick 4 or 5 songs off of their upcoming album and perform these songs for the fans. Have the fans pick which one they should enter for the Eurosong. Re: mentor... is this required for Eurosong? If not, then no problem. If so, then ask if they can mentor themselves, or ask Caroline to help them again. If Caroline is unwilling or unable, find someone else. I think the entries have to be submitted to RTE in September? So, August would prob be the best month to do this. It would be fun... and different. |
