If the twins are actually serious about the music route, then they certainly should not do any more UK reality shows.

I'm sure it's probably a different perception from across the pond... but reality shows are considered quite low-brow here in the States.

If they want to make it in the US, they need a manager, a label, i.e. they need to start from the ground up... it's not easy... but I have great faith that they can do it. And being allowed to listen to an advance-cut of Blurred Lines doesn't mean they're *in*, it just means they are *on the cocktail party list*. Big difference.

For the life of me, I don't understand their hesitation, especially in light of their quixotic approach to Oz... that's a mighty heavy price tag w/o any tangible reward.

Call me crazy... but I simply don't understand the baskets they are putting their eggs in.

Sometimes it just feels like everything that can possibly be said on a particular subject (i.e J&E's career) has already been said.

We need some new developments to get our teeth into! Preferably good ones.

Anyone else find it a bit sad that JBA wasn't nominated for a BAFTA in it's own right? Although looking at the categories it's probably too similar to Horrible Histories.

I can't give a proper opinion because I don't know much about Children's UK TV, but trying to be objective JBA is a well done show with a high cultural value and in a country like mine, it'd be winning awards without a doubt... but the quality of UK TV's seems a lot better than ours

I also think that the twins have been approaching Canada and Australia as a first step before trying it in the States. I don't understand either the Australian tour, I think it's too ambitious, but apparently they're gonna do it anyway, with full or empty venues. It can be a learning experience for them as well.

I was reading an article that said record labels often use Australia and Canada to break an artist is the US, as a hit in either of those countries is relatively easy by comparison and it adds kudos. Also news trickles through and creates interest.

I don't know of there's any connection, but I found it interesting.

Keep in mind that Toronto, while a fantastic city (ok... it's an average city with superb sidewalks), is not Canada. And also keep in mind that Australian acts only break the States when the economy is good and labels can afford to search for new sounds.

So, can the twins navigate these waters without strong leadership? Doubtful... they need a savvy US label... and it ain't gonna be Star Trak.. they've officially checked out.

Here's something funny - one of the big TV networks in New Zealand has announced its 2014 line-up. Among the shows is a new production called Cadbury Dream Factory (sponsored by the chocolate company). It's basically like an all-ages version of Jedward's Dream Factory. Obviously that programme format has been around for much longer than JDF, but it's funny how similar the name is!

Speaking of television, I was thinking how cool it would be if the Jeds got their own series in Australia or Canada. They'd have some exotic charm and none of the baggage they have in the UK.

Disliked the age limit on Dream Factory, adults have dreams too!

you can not force a US label (or an other label) to give them a contract &you can not force a manager(from USA) to sign them...Only because they would need a good label+manager does not mean that they will get it. So many people/singer/groups/celebs want to make it in US market but they fail. Even big european superstars like Robbie Williams have problems to break America/USA

We want the best for J&E and wish them a big career but life is not easy and not a dreamfactory

This is not a 'dreamfactory'...it's much too serious...there are labels here who are actually interested in J&E and have been for over 3 yrs... the door is open on this side, but seems to be shut on the other. Who is blocking this?

There is a Jedward thread over in the general discussion section suggesting that Jedward are not around anymore. Just wondered if anyone wanted to comment on what they've been doing?

They've mostly been writing and recording songs in LA.
Spent some time in Canada and Australia, back to Australia next month. Panto in Dublin in December.

Concert in Kilarney tonight. (Sunday 28th)

Been filming their CBBC show, Jedward's Big Adventure, this month, which has double the amount of episodes from previous 2 years.

Looks like they'll probably be recording new songs at some point as they think the ones they've written recently are a significant improvement in the ones they wrote and recorded earlier in the year.

They are besotted with their pet Chihuahua, Blaze, who now
has her own website etc.

And they've done a UK tour, filmed a Christmas special of The Slammer, performed an acoustic song live on tv and played a benefit gig, singing with aslan..

I'd be happy to comment, but I can't find it either.

Killarney concert today, a good training before the Aussie concerts in a month. BTW I've seen on twitter some pics of the official posters for the tour hanging out the venues, seems their promoter is doing her work

The PR for this tour looks great, I'm really happy to see it, lots of excitement and interest from the media too.
