Just because Shirley has a sister called Tina, doesn't mean another character with the same name could come into the show.

if its another character ill be fuming. theres no way tina - shirls sister could ever come into it if that is the case
This is the only way to save Shirley as a character. If this is her sister, then DTC is making a smart move.

Alison Newman would be brilliant - she's already appeared in EE a few years ago as a DI. She hasn't mentioned anything on Twitter about joining EE...
Interestingly, Camille Coduri and Linda Henry played sisters in an episode of 'A Touch of Frost' in the mid-1990s.
also i saw a tweet someone went for an audition to play shirleys nephew. i thought it was just a joke tweet but might have been true? this was around july time

Apparently someone's cousin was auditioning for the part of Shirley's nephew. (That would be Lorraine Newman's work)
