Please, please, please, please let it be true.
But that's just Ronnie Corbett's opinion. I doubt if he's made his mind up if he'd want to go on. I'm sure that next year his ego will tell him he can still do it and it will up to the BBC to decide if they want their presenter barely able to put one foot in front of the other, unable to follow instructions, trying to tell "jokes" which everyone's heard many times before, unable to string a coherent sentence together, and keep having to tell Tess to cut him short to stop him rambling.
But on thinking about it a bit more, maybe he has decided that this will be his last series, in which case we can look forward to an already planned over-the-top "Haven't I been wonderful?" final show to the series. Will he take the limelight from the winners, when he objected that others might do so when he yelled "Back off! Back off!" Then, of course, there'll be tribute shows from sycophants whose careers are flagging a bit, but which we can fortunately avoid.
