Hmm, so 'good' news suggests that it's not a popular character leaving. The fact that there is a bit of a announcement about it suggests that it's not a less popular character either. I don't think this much fuss would be for a new character , not unless they were a really, really high profile actor.
So that leaves either a storyline or a returning character. I don't remember the midnight embargo announcement ever being about a storyline before, so that leaves returning character. Maybe revealing Shirley isn't buried under Jean's rose bushes after all, or a different character coming back. Maybe Peggy as she's back this week anyway, it would make sense time wise. Tis the season of the returnees so it wouldn't shock me if there was another one on the cards too.

Because it is vile, should be post-watershed, and in my opinion has contributed to the erosion of positive values in British society.
It is the epitome of BBC dumbing down.
And the acting is embarrassing.

Yeah, technically it could. It would have to be pretty newsworthy though. It's not really 'good' news if it's just some actor we haven't really heard of, playing a character we've never heard of before. If it's someone higher profile or somehow integral to a current storyline...then maybe, but I still feel it's not the most likely possibility.

I have visions of Mona sitting in front of her pc refreshing madly from 11:30 till midnight in the hope it's news about Tina! 
If Shirley is sticking around then they really do need to have characters she can interact with. I'm not against an appearance of Tina, however I don't want her to be a carbon copy of Shirley or even Heather for that matter.
If they do introduce Tina, how long before she's humping Mr Phillip. They do love their love triangles after all.....
