If only Blackberry had thought of making it a cross platform service a few years ago. They could have even charged a £1 an app and made a tidy sum.

Installed it a short while ago on my Android phone, but I keep getting this error . . .
Unable to complete setup No Connection found Your connection to the wireless network is turned off. Restore your connections and try again. That error is bulls***. My connection to the wireless network is turned off? Errr, no it isn't. My phone's WiFi is turned on, and all other internet apps are working, so why does BBM think there's no network connection when there actually is? |

That is because today is the first day that an official version of BBM was released on android
so you will have an outdated/buggy version that was disconnected from the servers as it was causing them to crash by sending to much data. Surely even Blackberry wouldn't so stupid as to upload the recent buggy leaked build to the app stores? |

This IS the official version I have installed on my Android phone. I downloaded it directly from Google Play.

Well, "a short while ago" in this case means a few hours before I posted the message with the error details.

Finally actually got the app installed and my pin set up only to realize I don't no anyone who has lol. It seems to be quite easy to navigate if anyone has used it on BB10 you will be able use easy as hell looks and is identical. Only thing is I couldn't seem find a way close the app without going into settings and forcing it to stop.
Can it be a competitor against whats app maybe it does seem more polished and can see business people switching to it. Only time will tell I think I'm going give it a chance if I can find friends/colleagues tomorrow who are on it. PS I do like QR code for the Pin's that is a nice touch. |

The Mrs is going to install it as well and give it a bash. Seems like I actually found a use for NFC as apparently you can share pins via that as well. One thing I'm trying figure out how does Blackberry make money from BBM? |

Very odd!!
Yeah it is what is even more odd is that I just received the your at the front of your line info email at 11:02PM. I've had it set up for over 45 minutes LOL. That is kind of funny but you likely right about money as honestly can't see how else they do it as I can't any advertisements or anything but maybe I might if I actually had a contact. I wonder how different the iOS and Android versions are I couldn't imagine to much maybe slightly less customization on iOS compared to Android. Just noticed you can change LED light for messages that is a nice touch. |

Its all rather painful. Also you can only set it up on one device, so you can't use it on both a tablet and a phone.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled BBM, and it still won't connect to the network. It still keeps coming up with the same
total bulls**t error message I mentioned earlier, which makes it totally unusable. There's no way I'm using it on 3G. If it refuses to work over Wi-Fi, then it's a pointless unusable piece of crap. |

Downloaded and installed it within 1 hour of it being released.
Seems alright to me so far. |

How do I get this thing to connect so I can enter my e-mail address to get on the waiting list? It's an internet app,
so it should use whatever connection is enabled for internet access, much like any other internet app installed on my Andoid device. Wi-Fi is enabled, and the BBM app seems to be ignoring it for no good reason. |
