You forget South Park, although I always found the humour a little too much toilet humour, but than I am very very old

Heck I am nearly fifty, and I think Tom and Jerry is still brilliant.

What other shows did he suggest?

Apart from ones that are still around now I can only think of the one with the shrink and the one with the movie critic.

There seems to be as many or more these days. I'd also add Robot Chicken and those ones on FX/Bravo that they show in a block. Some of them are more animation rather than cartoon.

Just started getting into American Dad and I think it's brilliant, unlike Family Guy which has waned in quality over the years.

That's because Archer is the only adult cartoon anyone needs.

Do you have a link? I'd like to read his actual comments, in context.

From the view of freeview viewer we are a little limited.

Archer is in the wasteland on 5 USA at 2:25 am once a week.

Brickleberry was on Viva and very funny (the repeated the whole thing twice watched it twice loved that crazy little bear)

Crash Canyon also on Viva (not right now but it has been on) Funny and fun if a little repeative here and there but they stuck down a big hole so there is only so much that can be done.

Family Guy and American Dad are the only two more or less always on which is good because you need some cartoon fun sometimes.

I must admit having grown up with Tom & Jerry, the Loonie Tunes etc. I love me some cartoons but freeview does seem to be somewhat short on classics, everything more or less is on pay tv.

But there are a few highlights here and there for us true big kids

I'm aware of loads of them and i don't even watch them: The Simpsons, Futurama, American Dad, Family Guy, Archer, Twisted House, Bobs Burgers, Robot Chicken, The Life and Times of Tim and Aqua Teen Force.

I've always prefered American cartoons though.

Maybe you shoud try Japenese Anime that is aimed at an older audience.

Until recently TCM2 showed Venture Bros, teenage aqua force and other Adult Swim shows late on Friday nights. Now it's TCM +1 they've all vanished from the tv screens.

The [Adult Swim] site offers international streaming on most (or at least some) of it's original content.
