Hmmm. Saw it on the OH's iPad2 last night.

Looks a bit playschool doesn't it?
Not particularly. It looks quite clean and fresh, but essentially not very different from before.

Is anyone else finding that typing is really slow since IOS7? It takes about 10-15 seconds from pressing key to it appearing on screen, it is maddening.

Yes that is happening to me. I don't know what is happening. I have an Ipad 2 and my partner has the newest one and his works absolutely fine. Mine does not.

Some people seem to have had success with the solution offered on that web page. Could be worth a shot.

Thanks I'll try that later, though resetting up all my settings would be a pain but hopefully less painful than this lagging nonsense.

Not so happy that - unless I am missing something - there is no longer any way to force stuck apps to close.
Just realised there is a way to close apps manually. All you need to do, is double tap the Home button, as with IOS6, then centalise the large preview image of the app you no longer want running, and swipe it upwards off the top of the screen. Like Kaiser Soze...it's gone.

Correct. Also if you don't want to double tap the home button, you can do a 4 finger swipe upwards on the screen to achieve the same result as the double tap.

Speaking of gestures, I discovered (by accident) that in Safari, if you do a single finger swipe from left to right it has the same effect as clicking the "back a page" arrow, and right to left does "forward a page" arrow. Quite nifty.

Downloaded it last night on my iPad 3. Liking it so far, nice and clean, I like the double tap home button to bring up the windows open. Not sure I like the Updated Safari browser, wish the favorites etc were on the left, and don't like the top bar thingy, but other than that looks good.

I tried that on my iphone 4, no difference at all. Hence not trying it on my ipad (I have an ipad 2)

These days, I almost always use a stylus. Got fed up with wiping away fingerprints. But, what you say should work just as well for browsing.

BTW, just in case no one here has spotted it yet, there is at last a useful addition to the App Store. Using the little up arrow box thingy on the top right, you can no choose to add an app to a 'Wish List' for future consideration. About time, eh?

I am really fed up with ios7. The new look is ok I guess, very Nokia retro (reminds me of Bella on my old N8. But my ipad2 32g is so unresponsive. Is there a way of going back to the last release?

Just downloaded to my iPad and not impressed. It looks like something for young kids.
Is there anyway to revert to the last version?

Spotted an issue with IOS7 that Apple MUSt fix as soon as possible; battery drain. With IOS6, I could charge up my iPad4 to 100% and leave it in stand-by overnight wthout seeing a single percentage drop. IOS7, on the other hand, drops an average of 6% when it's doing nothing! This is not good enough.

Cropped on my iPad this morning took about 90 minutes to download, a while to loathere was a software update on my apple tv, does not Seem to do much, IPhone took no time, and seems to work fine, although my video files are a bit of a mess, and my photos seem to take a while to load.

I hope it will sort itself out.

I can never understand why people rush to install upgrades like this on existing devices. Even when there is a killer performance or usability improvement it is worth waiting for others to find the bugs. With ios7 there does not seem to be any real gain. Every comment on a minor improvement is balanced by another on a problem or retrograde change.

I'd be right there with you, if it was Microsoft. The rubbish that is Windows 8 is what finally turned me from their path, and into the arms of Apple. My next PC will be a Mac, because I don't want to be forced down the Windows 8 route. I suppose I expected better from Apple, when an OS update was made available.

To be fair, I'm not finding IOS7 to be in any way unstable. Also, if the various causes of power drain can be addressed as advised in this thread, that will be another issue sorted. In general, I like the new look, functions such as having controls swipe up, better security, and better multi-tasking. On the negative side, Johnny Ive's design has made the bundles Notes and Calendar apps virtually beyond comfortable use due to the blinding brightness. But, this is easily solved by downloading one of the better, and free, apps available on the App Store.

Join the club.

My iPad Mini runs fine on iOS6, why upgrade just because of a new look.

I've successfully downloaded IOS7 to my Ipad mini but had to delete a lot of (old ) apps to make space. it looks good, runs faster( I think) but my favourite app the Guardian newspaper app has huge pages now that are very difficult to navigate (it was the Iphone app,x2)
