9200T Power On not working
flingel

Power On on my 9200T is not working. Have tried changing the power on station (just in case, even though not logical!) but makes no difference. Power Off works with no problems.

I have searched the forum but so far can't see similar - has anyone had this? And if so, is there a solution?

Is the time displayed on the front panel of the Humax when in standby?

Pre-empting Martin, I suggest you check out the following link: http://myhumax.org/forum/topic/my-92...ows-in-standby.

ah so you're saying it is connected to "The Clock" problem. I did look through that thread but couldn't find someone with exact same problem so thought it might be something different - particularly as it Powers Off ok.

Thanks for the advice (both Martins!).

Just to clarify, you said in post #3 "just 4 dashes" but is it really 4 dashes with a colon in the middle --:--?

Like recording from STANDBY the POWER ON feature requires the 9200 to know what time it is while in STANDBY. If your 9200 has the clock problem (if it shows --:-- in STANDBY then it has) then it hasn't a clue what time it is while in STANDBY so it doesn't know when to switch ON.

I linked to the myhumax.org information to cover the case where you really meant "-- : --" rather than "----" in Standby, which, as you can see from the information, that the proffered solutions are different.

My understanding is that:

If your timer-recordings don't start from Standby but do so if the box is on then a Clock problem is most likely.

If your box does not boot up at all and has the 4 dashes then a disk problem may be causing the box to hang.

The link gives advice on both problems.

Yes it is really 4 dashes with a colon - sadly! Thanks Big Les.

Thanks for the further clarification Martin, time to read up on the clock problem I guess!

Big-Les' instructions are excellent. Brilliant deductive work.

When I cleaned my Clock Board on a Silver 9200 I did not remove it completely, just spotted the "gunge" and cleaned the area and, hey presto, full working order again.
