Of course we know Myra isn't really dead, and is now hopefully sunning it somewhere with Jacqui and Michaela (I'd like to think so anyway). But why hasn't there been any aftermath from the villages? Myra was the pillar of the community, a central character yet only her family are mourning her. Martha, The Osbournes, Dirk and a number of others should have been at Myra's funeral by the dog yet none of them we're to be seen. Theresa has show little emotion, in fact none of the McQueen's have..... it's almost as if they know Myra isn't really dead!

Anyone agree or disagree?

Didn't they do the same with Riley's death? And I think when Silas was found out there was very little reactions from everyone, they quickly focused on the teens and ignored the Costellos, then when they went back to them the focus was on Mercedes and neither Silas or Heidi were even mentioned.

There really doesn't seem to be a community feel to the show where everyone reacts when someone happens to people they know.

I know, there used to be in the 90's but that was when death came as more of a shock on the show. The villagers mourned Texas more than they mourned Myra.

In Corrie they have people asking about Nick and everyone worrying about Hayley, in HOs, no-one seems to care about anything unless it effects their family.

It would improve the show if they did focus more on people reacting to other people's lives, it doesn't make any sense that no-one is talking about 'Myra's' death or Browning going to jail and confessing to murdering Lynsey.

I agree about everything except Theresa. She has shown a lot of emotion and has been saying several times how Myra was like a mum to her.

Silas has still been a pretty hot topic around the village and has been mentioned frequently in the past 2 years. I agree though that there wasn't much of a reaction at the specific time and nobody really apologized to Lynsey after everything.

They all do seem okay don't they. All of them think he's dead but have managed to get on with their lives with just a little year here and there.

I have to say when Tina died I think it was the same sort of reaction.

Silas is a serial killer and he is out there somewhere, yet people haven't talked about him possibly being the person that killed Texas, even though he had plans to kill her.

No one has been talking about Browning killing Lynsey (and Myra), meaning that Riley's name has been somewhat cleared, so why aren't people also talking about the fact that Mercedes blamed Riley for stabbing her and suggesting that Riley killed Lynsey. Why aren't people wondering if Mercedes had anything to do with it? Did she cover for Browning? This is gossip, people love gossip and other people are friends of the victims and this effects them, but still there is nothing.

I don't we are all expecting anything big, but it should be mentioned, they can't keep having people in their own bubbles and never reacting to what goes on in their own community that involve people they know and in some cases their friends.

Yeah, it all just seems a bit distasteful the way Hollyoaks have treated death the last ten years or so.

Because deaths are practically a weekly occurance on this show now.
They can't keep dragging out the aftermath of every single one. Otherwise that I'd all every episode would be about.

To be honest I was hoping hollyoaks would reign in this sort of nonsense by now.
Evidently not.

It's made me despise Nana and seriously go off Carmel and Teresa. I'm disappointed in BK at how rushed it all was

Probably 'cause there's that many deaths and murders they just don't care anymore. I do agree they handle it terribly though due to the pace of the show it comes and goes far too quickly...

There are so few human reactions from any characters these days because the show is so bogged down in ratings catching that OTT plots are gone through at an intense speed. There's no time to show the McQueens grieving because it's thought no one will tune in for that.

The best community feel the show had was after Lynsey's death - the whole village got involved, there was speculation about Silas which roped in other characters who'd been involved in that plot. The wedding crash involved a lot too.
