Song Spoilers for tonight
The X Factor 2013 auditions conclude this evening and here’s our spoilerifc sneak peek at what’s to come!
But things get off to a rough star, with a bizarre Cheryl Cole cover from duo Duplex- Cassie and Katrina, both 20 – only winning praise for their looks. Butler Shozod Zikiryaev also struggles to impress with his take on Down by Jay Sean, while Elvis Presley will no doubt be turning in his grave if he heard Krysztof Misiewiz’s performance of You Are Always On My Mind. 58 year old accountant Peter Duboff from North London doesn’t do much better with Creep by Radiohead, leading the panel to rather underestimate teenager Justin Peng. The Chinese national is in the UK studying and comes to perform I Look to You by Whitney Houston, carrying a rose in his hand for Nicole. Fortunately the talent is back on the up after that, with Sam Callahan leading the way with his performance of You’re Beautiful by James Blunt. 24 year old pub and club singer from Manchester Paul Akister is told he’s full of soul before a familiar face appears in the audition rooms. 27 year old builder from Wolverhampton Joseph Whelan entered the competition last year and was devastated after he missed out on a place at Judges Houses, but will his take on Always by Bon Jovi convince the panel they made the wrong decision? Elsewhere in tonight’s final audition show and love is in the air as a string of couples go before the judges. From partners to sisters and even a mother and daughter, the duos come in every shape and size this evening. Student couple Green Boots perform A Whole New World while Joanna 21 and Alexandra 20 are sisters, singing Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys. Patience brings along her mum Rose for her audition, as the pair belt out Written in the Stars in a bid to make the Arena try outs tomorrow. Girl group Daisy Chains are faced with a difficult decision after first getting a no, but Gary offers one member the chance to go solo. The Overs category sees some oomph, with a trio of wannabes all getting glowing comments from the panel. Jayson Newland impresses with Never Too Much by Luther Vandross, while music teacher Andrew Magee performs an original song before Lord Simpson sings I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston. Finally, this year’s oldest auditionees are the last act to go before the panel. The Nostalgics are aged between 68-94 and meet every Wednesday at their local bowling club in Coventry. Singing with an organ, the group perform Bring Me Sunshine as Louis Walsh joins them! Seems like a very male dominated night when I prefer female voices
![]() I guess that's the bad thing about the fact they've basically shown all of the girls category so far. It was great at the time but now I'll probably enjoy it less. Looking forward to Sam though. |
