We see hundreds all lining up outside waiting to audition yet the show makes out its mostly only Joke & returning acts who are getting through to the auditions, why do these acts keep getting screen time when there must be a lot of good singers that are never shown

I went to watch it a couple of years and they filmed all the people queuing to watch the auditionees. I'm not sure where the auditionees queue. They had two sessions one audience went to the first and the other audience that didn't see the first session went to the second but they queued in the same place. There was also another queue where the judges walk past (I think). There was about 20 in each session so they'd see 40 each day. I'm not sure if sure if they see more now or if it's the same but that's how it was then. But no one enters the building until the judges have arrived and entered which was around 3pm. I don't know if maybe the auditionees are already inside somewhere.

The acts that they show queuing outside are for the first rounds of auditions. The judges aren't there at that point - everyone has to do at least 2 (sometimes 3) auditions in front of show producers before they get to the judges stage. You have to be either completely brilliant or completely bonkers to make it through (or have a great sob story - they check them out in the first stages as well!)

This year in particular, if you hadn't been a returner from a previous year or your own management to introduce you to the producers, or been a finalist in either TeenStar or UK Open Mic you would be VERY lucky to get a judges audition.

Look at the bootcampers, they almost all fall into these areas....
