Tyler's exit in EastEnders
I have just watched Tyler's exit episode (6th of August) as I have 27 episodes on my youview now to catch up on.
I am going to miss Tyler, anyone else missing him? it's such a shame he's left as he is sexy. ![]() Overall I am glad he wasn't killed of though so he could return at some point in the near future I hope ![]() Now to catch up with some more EastEnders

Sorry Owen but I get the feeling most people on here (myself included
) won't share your dismay about Tyler's exit....I think most people will agree though that it was their favourite Tyler scene (because it was his last one ![]() !)

Unfortunately, "sexy" or not didn't make him engaging or at all interesting to watch.

I was ever so slightly warming to him before he left, but I think his brother's storyline with Alice had good potential, unfortunately that was his bloomin exit storyline!

Unfortunately, despite what Bryan Kirkwood and Lorraine Newman believed, hiring 'sexy' actors does not make a good show. Unless you are aiming the show at shallow teenagers and people with very low IQs. Tyler, like many other young actors hired in recent years, was played by an actor that had NO TALENT whatsoever.
Look, teenage girls go through the stage where boys have to be fit. So do the guys. It's a natural part of growing up; admiring the latest bland pretty on TV. It's why Bieber and One Direction make so much money (though, OK, 1D's songs are fricking catchy). In this day and age though, TV and Hollywood panders to this demographic to extremes, mainly because they know this is where the audience is. I find most of the shows produced from this mentality appalling and an insult to any viewer's intelligence (X Factor, TOWIE, Big Brother etc) but I don't have to watch them and I happily do not. However, Eastenders is a soap opera, apparently aimed at everyone. You're supposed to be able to enjoy it whether you're a kid or an old grandma. Corrie and Emmerdale seem to be managing this fine. So why, oh God why, has Eastenders just done everything in its power to appease this shallow demographic, completely alienating its long term viewers or any viewer past their teens? It's destroying the show; there is a reason it's 3rd now, and this is clearly one of the main ones. Tyler was an example of this, as is Joey. There to look pretty and do little else, including act. These characters simply cannot last, and as such that is why it is difficult to create longevity from the cast of Eastenders. Kirkwood and Newman seemed to think that a pretty cast made a good show, regardless of talent. Eastenders is not a modelling competition and it has never pretended to be. It's about time this mentality was dealt with. DTC... take the floor. |

I hope Tyler never returns to EE, one day EE will come across a Tyler scene and yell to themself 'wtf were we thinking' and hang their heads in shame.

Of course there is, if Shona McGarty is still in the show in the near future as whitney maybe Tyler could return and make a go at things again with whitney?

Nope, sorry but I don't miss him at all. He did get a fairly decent exit in my opinion, which was a stark contrast to his otherwise painfully dull storylines.
Actually now that I think about it the only Moons I can think of who had crappy exits were Spencer and Anthony. |
