Michael le Velle
http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/m...ebrity-2292013
Michael le Velle could be heading into the jungle with a huge pay out at the end of it. Good for him. After everything he's been through and being found innocent, I hope he does really well. The guy deserves a break from all the negativity, any extras that come along are a bonus. Would be good to see him rebuild his life and his reputation. Go for it Kev

If he really is a 'self-confessed alcoholic', then he won't be able to overcome that in a few weeks, (unless he had already decided to go into rehab anyway and was determined to give up drinking).

He seems to be a functioning alcoholic though and has managed for years to keep up with the Coronation Street filming schedule with little or no interest from the public regarding his drinking. With the right support and room to recover, he's got a good chance of beating it I think.
I suppose it depends on how badly he needs the money, (and he will certainly need a lot to pay those massive legal fees incurred through no fault of his own).

Yes, if he actually wants to beat it, (and many functioning alcoholics generally don't). It's one thing to be able to go to work every day and be fine without a drink, when you know that at the end of the day you can go straight to the pub, and quite another to be stuck in the jungle with no alcohol at all.

In the 'jungle' programme, is all alcohol banned? If so, that would be a good chance for Michael to get dry, if he has the will-power. I thought that, if you were found not guilty, the court case didn't cost anything; obviously I am wrong if it has left him with debts. I hope Michael can get his life back on track.

I hope he has the strength to get through all of this. I know he's been working behind the camera but am missing him on screen now, would like to see him back where he belongs soon, pining over Sally, growling at Tim and being far too soft on Sophie.
I hope he isn't going into this too soon and that he is able to cope with the deprivation - good luck to him and hopefully he will do well. |

If only that was the case, guilty or not, solicitors and lawyers cost hundreds of thousands of pounds, I would not be at all surprise if his defence council cost him in the region of half a million and possibly more. |

I want Michael to sort himself out but to be honest I have no desire to see him back on Corrie. I haven't missed Kevin (or Ken) at all and feel that Sally, Tim and to some extent Deidre's characters have all benefitted from their absence. I love the Sally Tim relationship and it doesn't need Kev being all stompy again. The only good use for Kev would be to come back to take Sophie and Maddeh away with him, far far far away!

Deidre's like a knotless thread without Ken. She's not a strong enough or integral enough character on her own these days.

This link suggests that he will start filming soon which probably does mean onscreen in September.

Whilst it's great that he looks to have sorted himself out a bit , I really don't see what kind of contribution he could make to the street. Other than an ex wife and a grown up daughter he has no links to the show anymore.
