It's not a discussion when you're saying pretty much the same thing all the time, its just picking at other peoples comments to try to push your own point of view. Like I said, get over it and move on. We all know what you think

I always found the Laurie Brett situation weird, I hope she wasn't axed for Mandy but I do have a feeling that may have been the situation as Laurie worded herself very carefully when being interviewed either on This Morning or Loose Women. It sound to me like it wasn't all her decision to leave. The Beale's were destroyed under Kirkwood. While the recasts are unfortunate the one thing we can thank Newman for is the rebuilding she did of them.

I thought she chose to go, because she was doing waterloo road?

The same thing all the time?

I made one comment you responded to with a small paragraph and I replied with a second comment.

We are on this forum to discuss. I fail to see the problem.

That's what I thought. She said she hadn't had much to do with Jane for a while and felt it was time to find other roles.

But then that was later, when she initially announced she was leaving it was to spend time with her family. So there are inconsistencies in the reasons.

No she said she was leaving to spend time with her new baby and her partner and they had just bought a house in London.

Next thing she is signed up to Waterloo Road which is based in Scotland.

It never added up. But of course we don't know all the details. It could have been an error on the interview articles part.

bib: Agreed 100%

Also the guy who played Emmerdale's Daz Hopwood, should have just been suspended from the show rather than sacked.

Careful, offering a differing opinion is trying to force your view on others apparently.

There are a lot of characters where it's as if the casting department and the script writers are not singing from the same hymn sheet.

A new character comes into the soap, hardly appears, does basically nothing and then is axed

Gillian Taylforth aka Kathy Beale - a legendary character who was still very relevant in 2006 with loads of friends and family still on the square. The actress was very loyal to the show staying for 15 years before leaving originally. They asked Gillian back but she was busy filming footballers wives so couldn't return straight away but said she would be happy to return at a later date. That wasn't good enough for the producers though as they wanted to give Phil Mitchell something to do straight away (i.e bring back Ben) so they killed her off off-screen. Disgraceful treatment of a legendary character.

On Neighbours, Sindi Watts was a popular bubbly character, who had been with the show on and off for several years, who was randomly transformed into a psycho overnight. She ended up heading to the psych ward for her exit, after trying to kill Toadie believing he was trying to split her and Stuart up. Marissa Warrington deserved so much better, and so did Sindi.

How did he get unfairly treated? He had front burner storylines all the time during both of his stints. Granted, as an exit story, having Jesse drink drive, killing Chloe Richards, it was negative, miserable and completely short-changed both character's histories, but he was no exception to that rule during their OTT years. Everything was very plot driven at that time.

Ben Unwin is allegedly gay and the story goes that H&A bosses didn't allow him to say he was because it would ruin his bad boy image.

I don't think so, considering Mandy herself was axed

I never bought into the Kirkwood conspiracy theories before I found out the truth about Pat. It would've been Kirkwood's idea to bring back Sharon and make her into a man dependent drug addict too. Was he in charge when June Brown took her 8 month break? I bet he gladly agreed to that”

Kirkwood actually treated Dot really well and seemed she was one of his favourites. It was under Bryan we had that great little story of Dot feeling alone and not being able to cope caring for Jim and taking the decision to put Jim back in care, he brought in Rose so Dot had some blood related family on the square and set up the Golden Girls trio of Dot/Rose/Cora and she had a good part to play in the aftermath of Heather's murder. I actually felt Dot had a new lease of life with Kirkwood in charge and was used really well, its since her return under Newman she hasnt been used so much but the that applies to many others and not just Dot.

I guess Chris Fountain feels a bit unfairly mistreated by Blackburn.

Hey you! I think what they meant was when he came out as being openly gay. H&A and it's silly image. You'd never think it was 2013!

Letitia Dean has been let down by the producers in this stint...

Viv in Emmerdale, I still can't believe how terribly she was sent-off and her funeral wasn't even onscreen...
I also think that Melissa Suffield was axed unfairly
Same with Devon Anderson, I didn't care about Billie, but it seems that Bryan Kirkwood just loves holding grudges
Pam St. Clements was also unfairly killed off, once again Bryan Kirkwood is one to blame

learning that Pat was killed off from Babs on This Morning was a shock.

I cant believe Pam was axed- a disgrace indeed as Babs said.
