Contract not being renewed is not automatically an axing. It could simply be that the character was signed on for a specific period of time and left at the end of that. In which case the actor/actress involved would probably have known before starting so there would've been no shocks.

I believe the official source actually said that Nicola Stapleton was persuaded to stay on a little longer than her initial contract to play out the Ian story. She was certainly not axed.

I think it's more to do with the fact they know there isn't much more to do with Sharon and they're dragging her out as much as possible so that she can stay longer. It's coming across tiring on screen though.

She did stay longer but she still didn't leave of her own accord. My point is, I don't think Jane was axed just to bring Mandy in since Mandy herself was never a permanent fixture

Ben Freeman he was cleared of rape so he should have been allowed to come back as Scott Windsor

Viv Windsor such a good actress and didn't even an onscreen funeral.

The kid who played Andy's little brother on Emmerdale Daz. He was sacked and should have just been suspended.
