After the recent Aminas the only characters I feel for is Kirsty and Carl. Firstly bcs both of them, I believe have potential of becoming great characters especially kitty.
But mostly o feel sorry for Daniel, because he's onlybbeen in the soap for three months and is gettin the axe!

Yeah, I said in the other thread. He's a decent actor, introduced well but instead of developing his backstory they just threw him into the action with Phil and Max and it spoilt it.

Kirsty, I actually think is no loss because the actress said she had no desire to stay for very long and the character was in danger of becoming Tanya 2.0 and doing repetitive cycles with Max. So if Max has to stay they can hopefully do something new with him too.

Thats what I like about him, his backstory is that he used to beat Kirsty, they were going to get married, he went to prison, he "befriended Derek" his mum was put into a home while he was inside, we saw his mum, he has a violent brother who is somewhat of a thug and a drug dealer who he disowned!

back story was fine!

I only liked Carl because he was the only bad guy in years, but hopefully someone more better, badder with better writing will come along!
Not fussed about him going though, he done his bit!

EDIT: by developing, do you mean bringing in his brother and mother?

I feel sorry for Poppy, axed again. The actress was good and the character had potential.

I also feel sorry for AJ. He was introduced and never used. He wasn't even a part of any story, it is ridiculous.

Eastenders should really look at the long term when introducing a new character. It happened with Ray as well, not a part of one measly story.

At least Kirsty and Carl got some material to work with.

Not necessarily bringing in family, but fleshing his character out a bit more. Rather than building up his characterisation and his role in the plots with Phil etc, they just threw him in there. There's no investment, it's just cutting straight to the action which is just rehashed and boring.

We don't have time to get to know characters anymore. Episodes where people sit talking in a room or whatever with great writing, rather than a quick succession of 30 second scenes which serve to move the plot along to the next car crash as quickly as they can.

They just can't seem to cobble together decent characters and interesting stories.

Characters were good in Santer/DTC era, many of them lasted a while,

BK/LN couldn't create great characters at all!

Awful character, stupid voice. I've never seen the actor in anything else, but this won't be a high point on his resumé.

If ever the category worst 'hardman' in a soap is created, he's a shoe in.

Lazy writing aswell to have him immediately make a beeline for Ian Beale as soon as he arrives. They do that everytime, Ians an older character now so he shouldn't be involved in the hardman/little man storylines anymore. It's not convincing in the slightest adding to the fact that his character had a mental breakdown. Not a good message for people who have really suffered something like that.
